Avoiding/treating stimulant muscle twitches, shakiness

Im simply curious if there is anything in the way of OTC medicine or herbals that could be taken before/along with a stimulant such as amphetamine, MDPV etc. that would reduce or eliminate the shakiness and twitchiness that comes with their use.

This particular side effect is very problematic and annoying to me, especially the unsteadiness of hands etc.

I'm well aware then benzodiazepines and likely a skeletal muscle relaxant like carisoprodol might do the trick just great, but these arent much of an option for me at this point.

I appreciate any help!

Magnesium supplements (which are usually OTC) can help a bit, but they probably won't completely eliminate the problem.

I usually take 500-1000mg magnesium oxide when I take amphetamines and it helps smooth out the jitters and reduce muscle tension/pain. YMMV.

I would say either lessen the dose of the stimulant or perhaps try a low dose of some Tylenol P.M/Nyquil...unfortunately, the shakiness might just be the way your body responds to stimulants.

Do ALL types of stimulants cause this shakiness, or just a certain variety? Does coffee?

yeah magnesium is probably the best thing for this problem. try magnesium citrate though. it has better bioavailibility than magnesium oxide

Aaaahhh! Wow that's actually quite an idea. I d0on't have any lyrica on hand but I have quite a lot of gabapentin.

It might actually help quite a lot with both the unsteadiness, and the comedown end, so long as dose is 2g+

Thanks for that! I wouldn't have thought to try it.

Are you drinking coffee, tea, or otherwise ingesting some amount of caffeine? I've learned that, for me, muscle spasms and twitching will only occur when I throw caffeine into the mix. I avoid caffeine now whenever I'm speeding.

Magnesium citrate is a laxative. Magnesium oxide is the one to use. Although magnesium oxide has laxative effects, they are nothing like magnesium citrate.

I'd just use a small dose of a benzo, or Lyrica as some others have suggested.

I too am a twitcher. Its usually the twitching which gets me in trouble... Parents and cops lol.
Keep yourself HYDRATED! I know its hard when your speeding but i cant stress this enough. Dont go crazy... Even just sipping on something every now and again will help. Preferably not something with caffine. Sports drinks are good for hydration.
The twitchiness is caused by neurotoxicity. And neurotoxicity is the result of inadequate fluid levels. Your kidneys need fluids to remove toxins from your blood. Without fluids the kidneys cant expel the toxins via urine. So instead, kidneys filter toxins back into bloodstream... Hence, neurotoxicity. Its your being dehydrated thats to blame. Although once dehydration starts its hard to revert. The idea is to prevent it from happening.
I dont pay attention at times and dont maintain my fluid consumption. I regret it when i start to twitch :( coz you cant fix it. It fries me good and proper... I turn into a typical twitchy speed freak. You can Only prevent it. Trust me. Try it once and you will see.
