Hey Paradise, havnt not heard of the oyster or clam shell's, but have used crushed egg shells with good succsess.lookin lovely wise :D
snails eh?
my advice would be to get some crushed clam or oyster shells, and spread it around your pots, or on top of them as a mulch. the snail/slugs will not make it to your plants if you spread out a good layer
also, using the shell pieces as a mulch, will help to adjust your PH, and the oysters add calcium. the clam shells are more suitable for beds, where it has several years to get worked up, have you tried alfalfa meal?!?
you could maybe get carried away, and use crushed SNAIL shells! hahahah
have you ever laid out a bowl of beer over night for them?!? double hahahaha
Something this year just made me forget about how easily sprouts can get munched. Next time best be going back to the basics I think
