We’re approaching the end of yet another year and the festive season is upon us. It’s a time of year where excess is seen within society and to a certain level accepted as ‘just that time of year’. Although it’s fun to let your hair down and wind down from a year of work, study or parenting - even the dole in some cases - it’s important to remember that the festive season only lasts so long and the consequences of our actions can be felt for many years to come. The results of poorly thought out decisions can have a detrimental effect on your health, career and ongoing relationships. Planning, where possible, will minimise the chances of negative consequences occurring during this time - forethought is better than hindsight after all.
Take the opportunity during this festive season to not only celebrate but to also reflect on where you have been, where you are and where you want to be. It’s a time of year where we have the time to sit back and be honest with ourselves about our forward movement in life. Although it’s fun to live in the moment, the moment only lasts so long, until the next one rears its unfamiliar head.
The Australian Drug Discussion team would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We hope to see you all back here next year happy, healthy and even more willing to communicate the HR message to those most in need. Please be safe in your consumption, partying and any other indulgences you choose to partake.
Happy Holidays and be safe.
