Hey Southern Hemisphere kids, I just got back from meeting Miss Apple and I have to say that that girl is really nice! She definitely added a great element to the little northern california meet-up we had. So i think i'll repeat myself: Aussies are cool.

Marmite? What is that, minced marsupial?
Wow, I didn't think my little comment would send the thread off on a tangent like this, but it makes me happy none the less.

It furthers my delusion that I am the center of the universe.
Just a quick question...do you Aussies think we are all that different from each other? This isn't a loaded question, just figure I'd get your perspective on it. There has been a lot of territorial issues on bluelight recently and I was wondering if it was due to a general interest in heated debate or a pervading feeling of superiority by all parties involved. Ya see, I happen to consider myself superior to all humans, but it has nothing to do with my cultural background.

It was great meeting you and chatting to you last night as well. I was very glad I met you and the other bluelighters at the movie. (more on that in another thread)
I just love the fact that I can meet all these people and even though we're from the other side of the world, we have something in common. I also met another girl but I can't remember her bluelight name (fuzzybunnie perhaps??). And pyro was there too (yes, I gave him a birthday hug mona!).
Mr Sticky...as for your question....no, I don't think people in general are very different from each other. The American culture is very different I think purely because there are soooo many more people in the states that Australia. We have grown up not having to fend for ourselves so much. Also, our culture follows the Britich culture a lot more which makes our priorities very different.
But basically, people want to meet up with their friends and have fun with them, normally in the presence of some sort of drug (whether it's alcohol or whatever), no matter what part of the world you're in.
I have more to say but I've just been told to get off this computer....more later

I'm glad you had a good time; i have to agree with you, it is great that you can go halfway across the world and find like-minded, nice people with such (relative) ease. Have a great rest of your trip, i wish i were doing something half as fun and exciting with my summer.
