If this is better off in CD, please feel free to move this mods, but I wanted Australian opinions on these products as they're made here. So, I'm also assuming that due to this being about harm reduction (harm caused to my lungs), I can post a link: snip

So what do you guys know about these vaporisors, and if anyone has any experience with them, is it worth paying for the more expensive steel model?

Sorry about that link. I didn't realise that was against the rules. Anyway, they're the VapoRite vaporisers.

Just delete this thread if this is also against the guidelines.

VapoRite are Chinese made aren't they? Never heard a good thing about them.

I recommend you spend the $$$ and get an Aromed or Volcano or something of equal quality.

I have an aromed and it is brilliant. So much so that I only smoke when I'm out...

You don't want to be inhaling lead, plastic etc etc from poorly made products.

Extreme Q Vaporizer

give it a go. cheap alternate to a Volcano with multi purpose.

and they're Canadian

The cheap wooden box vapes from china are "ok" ... they work, but they aint very good at the job.

Spend some money and order a decent vape from the states, check out "7thfloor" and their products. Do some searching on google.

I would be prepared to spend upto $200 on a vape, the ones from the states come with 3 years warranty.. and $200 isnt much to spend when you are talkiing about your health.

I can recommend the "da budda" and "silver surfer" the surfer being more expensive, both are excellent vapes.

^^ It's not just their effectiveness as a vape, design flaws can lead to inhalation of al kinds of nasty metals and plastics.

Smoking pot is much less dangerous than that crap.

Also, you want one designed properly to cut waste through creep out of any non airtight spots and you also want to be able to control the temp accurately so you don't over or underheat whatever herbs and spices you might want to try.

You really want the lowest effective heat possible with pot to minimise inhalation of tar etc. and deliver the clean strong high that you will get used to.

Thanks very much for your advice guys - and thanks for the PM xtc123, but I can't reply yet due to my green status. I'll check out all of the vape's recommended here, and go from there. I know the Volcano is the best, but I won't be spending that kind of money.

Cheers.

ioLite is a decent portable, only prob is it requires decent butane gas, nfi where to obtain it in AU so you have to order it from US and most don't ship butane cans.

^is that right re butane? the standard cans of lighter refill butane no good? I know the canisters for the portable wok burners are pretty shabby, but I thought the other was ok...

you need clean stuff, if you use generic brand they will eventually ruin it and clog up. I use vector butane.
