Aussie Christmas - What do you get up to?

We've ordered our Christmas ham this year from our butcher at the Preston Markets - he preps the hams on site and the meat is delicious. We've been travelling so much this year (overseas trips and interstate to see family) so we've decided to have a Christmas day at home, by ourselves. It's going to involve lots of seafood, cold meat, salads, etc and a big relax and lots of phone calls to family.

Boxing Day is going to be lunch at a friend's place - he's a fantastic cook, and we'll all contribute something to the lunch so it should be a brilliant day :)

Hey Samadhi, which butcher at Preston Market, we don't normally get a ham, but this year it is at our house and I have my mum and dad over from UK, so we will be definitely going to get one

It's in the meat/poultry section - if you walk in from the eatery entrance, you see a butcher on the right hand side immediately as you walk in the door; walk past that one; it's the next one on the corner (again, right hand side). They cure, etc their own ham and gave us a taste - its really delicious.

Pop has their business card, i'll get the name for you :)

Drink alcohol for a week, smoke cigs all day, give and open pressies, eat seafood, fight... Yeah nothing unsual :P

Go hard out on everything. Booze, Drugs, Food, Spend time with the Family...All that and repeat for several days.

now i don't like the idea of an egg drink, egg in milk just seems wrong
Egg Nog (even though I know it doesn't taste 'eggy') wouldn't appeal to me-
except the last few years my mum has made this awesome drink of egg nog with (a generous amount of) Baileys and lots of cruched ice. so yummy and refreshing on a hot Christmas day.

usually we have a big Christmas lunch with roast turkey and roast chicken and all the trimmings. We always have plenty of Cadbury Favourites on hand too (at my request/coz I love them hehe). Dad is happy to have all the prawns to himself as mum and I arn't big fans of seafood
present opening after waking up- big lunch- relax in arvo maybe go to the beach or watch a dvd/go for a stroll to get the food down then round two at dinner time =D

this year I know I won't be able to help getting a bit sad on Christmas day coz it's the first Christmas without my family- not going to WA for it this year as I went there last month for a wedding. Having it with my bf and his family which will be really nice but admittedly wish I was having it with my folks and brother

gotta go into the city Christmas morning and work for about an hour this year too baH!
