We're up for new faces, i myself have run BL gigs in the past, with similar standards that were a great success.

We're all just trying to save ourself the hassel of fuckin police raids and such - its not a purely 'public' gig, like the botanical garden meet ups and stuff... And we just don't know who is going to do what, so better safe than sorry if you get me?

Nope, you're wrong there actually in a way. There were a lot of WA people busted (2003 era if I remember correctly) and it was bluelight and meetups blamed for the information being given to the police. It only takes once to get busted, always a good thing to keep in mind.

Well the way I see this we have a set group of individuals arranging a meeting in which only a select number of individuals are able to attend.

As Klue has correctly pointed out in his posts earlier, Aus Social & Events has long supported meet ups etc and as such we will always allow such threads to prosper.

If you want to have a meeting with only "screened" attendees as you put it, then you don't need a public thread to do so. Those members interested in attending can use PM or some other social media.
