Yeah I kind of care, when they may be getting more luxuries and better food than alot of the homeless and struggling families. They have fucked up, raped people and killed people, The USA and other countries kills some of these types of people in some states, and in Aus we are feeding them good food and giving them a decent life, because? Because they fucked up bad and deserve it? Fuck them.

I'm not saying they should get a bad diet, but an average one would suffice, and not as many luxuries, I heard a rapist was getting xbox and dvd's and roots with his gf in there, fuck what type of punishment is that? For raping many young woman over a prolonged period.

I'd like to see more money spent on the homeless and struggling families than rapists and mass murderers personally. Drug cases are different, I dont care about them, they can eat well in jail for all I care, I dont think they deserve to be in jail full stop, but rapists and pedos and serial killers, fuck them.
 
Even in drug rehabs you have to make your own meals and for others...you do eat well but you work for it. Maybe I should just stop fighting and go to jail and get waited on hand and foot.... Maybe ill just kill a few people first and then let my mother and father (tax payers) pay for my pancakes and roast chicken....this is fucking disgusting.... They eat better than me and im not even locked up yet...
 
The meals may have fancy "gourmet" names, but in reality it's complete shite...It may be be edible but it's hardly anything better than even people receiving public assistance receive....at least in the US...

In the US, if you have children and no money for food...between food banks, food stamps and other independent organizations that help the poor...if you're not getting enough to eat it's because you're too lazy to even go and get the "hand-outs" that are available to you....

Just another version of the same bullshit story designed to get the public riled up that's been being churned out for decades!

This distribution of food is done by truck and plane and boat...some food is more expensive than other food and any prison that's "on the grid" in a location that routinely has goods shipped in is getting their food from the same distributors that everyone else does...

Prisons allocate a certain percentage of their budget to buy food for their inmates and they get it for the best deal they can...In any civilized "western world" type country, it's pretty much impossible to purchase inedible, sub-standard food. It's simply not available and it shouldn't be! Maybe in third world countries people are living off of horse-meat and pigs brains, and if their inmates were eating a cheap microwave "supreme pizza" they'd have reason to complain!

The idea that people should be made to eat horrible non-sustaining food as part of their punishment is unthinkable to me! Locking someone up and taking away all their freedoms and privacy is enough...anything more amounts to torture...
 
How is this related to drugs? Pretty bad to post this article in our drugs in the media forum when it's about killers and rapists. That's some fucked up shit actually... like wtf??

While I won't argue with your "clarification", if you carefully read the first paragraph of the article, you would see this important sentence:

They also get smokes and, while not under conventional methods, drugs and the occasional alcoholic drink.

There are 3 different mentions that would warrant inclusion in this forum.
I have put them in bold for clarity.
 
^ Then there is also this on the last 2 lines as well -

And at Christmas, it's traditional for inmates to hoard fruit and make batches of jail brew for a bit of seasonal cheer.
