ZOMBIE drugs being sold as legal highs despite their deadly contents are causing Queenslanders to go on psychotic and naked rampages. Police fear Schoolies Week teens will risk their lives taking new batches of the potent drugs known as "bath salts" and other potentially killer substances sold online and over the counter. The illegal drugs are incorrectly claimed to be safe, but have been linked to the leg amputation of a Mackay adult shop employee. He reportedly went into a violent fit of rage, stripping off his clothes and trashing the store.
"We've had incidents where people have injured themselves severely, stripped naked, trashed premises, ended up with broken legs," drug squad Detective Superintendent Steve Holahan told The Sunday Mail."We've had them run through plate-glass windows, attack police cars, self-harm."
Police this week raided adult shops, tobacconists, alternative stores and homes in the southeast, seizing 4.2kg of synthetic drugs with a street value of $147,000 in a bid to stop the supply of harmful designer drugs.
