For reall mannn I don't wanna go out on the streets without that safeguard..even tho i still end up gettin bundles of garbage lol

It aint rocket science people! I assume you learned how to read when you were like 3 or some shit right? With tha garbage around right now we kinda need this place more than ever. Knows the rules

... If you SEE shit like that, please use the report button that is in the bottom left corner of every post, the little box with a ! inside it. That sends it to us mods ASAP so we can come fix the post. If you want to help keep the thread open , reporting posts is a great way to help becuz it lets us get on top of shit quicker than if we had to read thru the whole thread to notice shit.

For those unaware, the mods aren't paid, they volunteer and give their time because they choose to help you members out. But there are only a few mods for any given forum, compared to dozens, perhaps hundreds (if you count lurkers) of members in a given forum. The mods make and enforce guidelines to keep the members, site, and this information all safe and available for the future. The rules are there FOR A REASON, but with only a few mods it falls to the forum members to have some ownership as well and help them out by REPORTing posts that break those guidelines.

Look at it this way - a problem occurs, and it takes how long for a mod to come along? And what are the chances they read every post? Of every thread? In a popular place like this, there's no freakin' way - I dare any of you to read every post of every thread. That's nuts. Now, if you've got members that like the forum and site, and want to keep them here, they pitch in and help where they can - the easiest way is to REPORT posts that are in violation. Yes, you can memberate as well, by replying in a way that helps educate n00bs (and you don't have to be an asshole to do it), but if something does need cleaning up, you need staff to get involved => HIT THE REPORT BUTTON. That flags the forum mods, an additional 10 Sr. Mods as well that can come in and help, as well as all the admin. Help us help you, help keep this place open and available, please.

This is so bad!!! The old stamp thread posters know that all this started recently with an influx of [new people] No disrespect to you but you guys come and break all the rules asking ppl to pm you in the thread, not posting location, asking for recommendations etc. then bitching when you get yelled at. If you don't like the rules then [find a site where you can do that stuff, it isn't allowed here for very good reasons]. We have been doing it for yrs before you guys came without problem and now because of you the thread is closed. So now thanks to you everyone will be copping shit they shouldn't be because they were not able to come on Bluelight and check. Thanks guys!!

Just read the rules, learn them, and you'll fit in fine! Welcome to Bluelight. :D

See, not so hard?

I think this just the moderators being lazy. People that post are young, new, and high. They aren't trying to put illegal stuff up intentionally, they made a mistake. The moderator can edit the post as they feel, no explanation needed. Instead they would rather fight with the people that posted incorrectly and than have a back and forth argument like little kids. MODERATORS, grow up and just EDIT THE POST IF NEEDED, that's it, and there is no problems. I don't mean to belittle or insult, I just think that if you wanted to be a moderator you should moderate not just be an asshole.

Say the same thing when you've cleaned up a dozen posts a day for the same stupid mistakes that you have outlined in the rules :\ Tell me your patience doesn't wear thin after awhile. And while we expect mods to stay cool about this, knowing it's part of the job, how about the members respect the amount of shit mods put up with, and all the shit you members don't see because the mods HAVE cleaned it up; all the PMs to people to learn to fly right; all the flack from people getting mad about being corrected when they never read the damn rules. Yeah. Now, let's find some members who wanna bitch about having some ownership and pride in the forum, the discussion, etc who "are being lazy" and won't even REPORT a freaking thing. :| Yeah, that helps.

This site continues to exist in part due to the rules we have in place. They're there to protect the members, the site, and to further discussion.

You guys are lucky you have this thread, and if it weren't for the DC mods who spend an inordinate amount of time on this one thread, it wouldn't exist.

So be thankful, read the damn rules, and follow the rules.

Amen.

And lacey, that is how you write a short response! ;)

Admin, you are exactly correct. Everyone needs to respect the rules and do their part as I plan to, but punish individuals not the group. If a moderator is tired of cleaning up certain people comments, warn them, then boot them, that's it. If the moderators won't do that, then they should suck it up and clean the thread. Punishing a whole group few a few in not the way a peer based site should work. We all need to do our part, as I intend to, I will follow the rules, and I do respect and appreciate the job you and all moderators do. I just wanted to clarify a bit because I fear I came off too negative in my prior post. I am just a realist.

i agree to all rules... only infraction i ever got was when my girl used my account haha. i dont even know what she did but i agree to all rules and not sure what this dumb chick did exactly but that sucks for the rest of us

i think it should be reopened.

it shouldn't even have to be said that looking for connects is not allowed,
anyone who is doing so is either a cop, or just plain fucking stupid.

reopen it, post the rules clearly in the first post.
post the detailed 1-10 ratings explained.

then take a zero tolerance approach to people who do not follow the rules.
delete their post, then delete their account on the spot!

if you need help moderating that thread, i'd be more than happy to.

it's a great thread, great resource, i don't review bags enough as i should,
but it has saved me from buying garbage on a few occasions.

i will post more reviews in the future, thank you and please reopen it.

Yeah, this is what we should all be doing anyway. If someone messes up after this, they deserve zero sympathy from the rest of us trying to make good use of a great knowledge and harm-reduction resource.

Just in case anyone doesn't know, use this button
reportx.gif
(it's right over there <--) to report anything that shouldn't be or doesn't belong in the stamp thread. Mods will take care of it but they can't be checking the thread and reading every reply 24/7. Between all of us, we're much more likely to pick up on something, in some cases the minute it happens.

This is a community and a community runs best when everyone does their part. I know most of us do and we all appreciate it, but no one needs to be afraid about reporting stuff that'll risk getting us shut down again.

Just my thoughts

While I thank everyone for re-reading the rules, its not that easy. I cant tell you how many PM's ive gotten, and how many times in general i've heard "ya i've read the rules". Anyone can say it, but that doesnt mean that they mean it.

When the thread re-opens things are going to be a lot different. You all have shown us you cant exactly be treated with 100% respect and trust, mostly because you've shown us in that thread you dont care for the rules which makes it clear to us that you have no respect for the thread or the site in general. To make things a bit more clear, you give what you receive.

NOW, to those who have posted in this thread, consider this your one and only freebie warning. You should all know now what the rules of the stamps thread are, and how to follow them. That means we dont wanna hear "oh but I didnt know that was breaking a rule!!", none of that any more.

The stamps thread will probably be closed for a little bit longer.
Just know that things are going to be a hell of a lot different now, and you've done it to yourselfs.

Just wanna give a thanks to aka and sin, who've been a great help with this thread, and the stamps thread in general. Thanks a lot guys!

I have never done heroin (although I am a frequent user of opiates/opioids), yet I enjoy reading the stamps thread.

So, am I just supposed to say it (and do it, I know)?

I understand the rules of Bluelight and will continue to abide by them.

Thank You.

I support an IP ban on anyone who fucks up severely or more than once.

As for separate city threads, maybe on a trial basis. That wouldn't fix what's fundamentally wrong with people's actions as of late, but it would make things more organized. But there's a lot of cross-city shit going on, so who knows if it'd really be any better. We'll see

I think we should have NY/ north jersey thread , and south jersey /philly threads...............and i dont know where Pittsburgh fits in . I never even knew there was dope there until they all showed up on here . But yeah i agree with Sin and AKA . If someone breaks the rules , kick them off ! That way we dont all suffer because of a few peeps. thats like kids in school who all get punished when one or two of them is bad.

The things that led up to the thread's closing won't be tolerated any longer. The fact that Lacey and Thizz are doing this is really kind of them.

If it were me and I had to spend time cleaning up one thread more then I spent on the rest of the entirety of Drug Culture you can be assured that I'd just see the thread closed, the rule breakers given infractions and my hands washed clean of the whole thing.

Is it possible to ban rule breakers instead of closing the thread?

Although it is possible to ban someone who breaks the rules, we have a warning system in place so that people learn the rules and abide by them. Habitual rule breakers do get banned.

Someone could always re-register and obtain a new account. To ban someone like that is unreasonable.

Nobody is being lazy.

Took the words out of my mouth.

I'm totally for the Pittsburgh thread. It is nice to see whats going thru NJ as it usually appears here later, but we can just lurk on their site if we want. It would also eliminate the need for the city name at the top of posts, as that rule was followed for about the first 5 posts after it was mentioned then forgotten more times than I can count.

Hurry up, Pittsburgh's comin back from the crap stuff to some goodies. I got some ratings to post!
B

I'm not sure that we would want two threads to look over. One is a ton of work. We'll talk about it.

Please just follow the rules !!

I am fairly new to BL but not quite. Anyways, this has got to be the best thread ever. I want it back ! I really don't know my way around BL yet but I know enough and read the rules in the beginning and when I wasn't sure I reread them. Please follow so we can have this wonderful thread back

Just wanna give a thanks to aka and sin, who've been a great help with this thread, and the stamps thread in general. Thanks a lot guys!

No problem man; thank YOU (and Lacey) for putting up with the bullshit and keeping most of your sanity intact =D

And SinCityBags, if your recovery continues and is ongoing, best of luck to you in everything. If you need to stay clear of any dope references online, that should be your priority, but if you can manage to quit and still read about it like Lacey (which is rare I'd have to say), we really hope you stick around to help keep us in shape.

My thoughts exactly, but yes, we'll talk it over and report back to you folk about it.

That's the main reason I was considering/suggesting a trial-basis. It doesn't really address the root of the misconduct. Maybe it'd make things a little more organized but it seems like more work for the mods, and even also more work for the review-seekers. Just putting the city name as the very first words in the post would probably suffice just fine.

The multi-city thread as it is isn't all that MASSIVE. As far as city-specific threads, I just don't know...Hell, I'd like a Camden-only review thread, but the number of people rating Camden stamps could be counted on fingers, so I realize it's just not practical. I mean, you'd effectively need a thread for: NYC, North Jersey, South Jersey, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and all the places in between. MAYBE a thread for each state with the city name as the first words of the post would be more practical but I'm still not really feeling it from a logistical standpoint. What if one dude comes up who happened to cop something in Connecticut and wants to rate it? Who knows where it originated first of all, and second are we gonna give ONE GUY his own thread?
Having several city threads may not be very practical either, but it's an interesting concept. How it pans out remains to be seen, and is of course ultimately up to you guys.

But the very existence of ONE review thread is up to us as readers/contributors. I know more people than this post in there and probably double that lurk around. If you're reading this and haven't posted in this thread yet, please do so and share your thoughts while confirming your cooperation with the rules, as that's the purpose of this thread and everyone dropping in here may help us get the thread back more quickly. But having it stick around is an effort that must continue indefinitely.

Just saying "yeah sure I agree, let's get back to it plz" , and then following the mandate for a couple posts and getting right back into the same ol' bullshit is such a junkie thing to do. IE, do whatever it takes to get something, and lie thru your teeth to get it. We've seen that that type of thing just can't fly around here. It's not hard or too much to ask, and I know we can all do it :)

^ Once again man, thank you very much for your input. We seem to agree for the most part on this.

After discussion with the other mods we have decided not to create regional stamp threads. It just didnt seem as urgent, nor did it seem as practical. With all that has gone down recently in just one stamp thread, imagine what would go down in 2, or 3, or possibly even 4?! It would just be overwhelming.

So, the rule still stands, please post what city you copped the dope in at the top of your post. It's really not that hard people.
