Applications are once again being accepted for those interested in helping to moderate the Ecstacy Discussion. Jamaica0535 is no longer a moderator, and I am sorry to inform you that Levictus will be stepping down as well. I am sorry to see them go, but I am optimistic that we have some great contributers in ED that will be excellent future moderators.


Your duties as a moderator will be:

* to be an active contributor to the forum, to build forum content, add discussion, and to provide level headed advice in regards to safety and Harm Reduction
* check all forum threads for violations of BLUA and forum guidelines and enforce our rules
* respond to reports on threads in ED
* edit, merge, move threads to appropriate forums, modify posts as required
* other general forum responsibilities

Benefits include:

* Full access to the staff nudie thread (my personal fav)
* Additional inbox space
* A superior serotonin system (OK, not really)
* A sense of god-like power
* If drugs become legal, you can put it on your resume!

* your location
* the amount of time you spend on Bluelight each day
* any particular interests you have being a moderator in Ecstasy Discussion and what you feel you could bring to the forum as a moderator.

Despite it being practical as greenlighters will likely not be considered for such a position, we are only allowed to send one PM per 180 minutes so sending to all three moderators would take 6 hours to accomplish. Post count should not be an indication of anyone's ability, knowledge, or time investment as some people only choose to contribute when they feel they can. Sure, anyone can spam around to get the 50 posts but that's a cop out and detrimental to the forum.

It is a measure of the time you have dedicated to the forum and helping others however. I'm on nearly 1k posts and would personally love the position, but still dont think I've done enough nor will be able to dedicate the time and commitment needed to be a good moderator here. It's not a football forum, people depend on the advice here to stay safe.
 
We have no post count requirement to apply, greenlighters are allowed to apply and be considered. Of course your history with Bluelight and ED will play an understandable factor in the decision making process, as will many other things. I love moderating ED, and I encourage anyone who thinks they would enjoy it and be of help to apply to join our team.
 
Id be more than happy to play police officer on ed just to watch certain things being said and delete comments if nesserary. I see comments up here that don't belong way to Long before they're deleted and I understand besiren is the only mod at the moment so its completely understandable. But I flip out when I see posts that don't belong and there left up fir 5 6 hrs. As far as being a mod? Ill pass on that my advice probably would end up killing somebody.
 
Overdone and this other administrators have done a great job of picking up the slack while we're down a few moderators. Moderating a post is rarely an emergency situation, and it's rare that multiple hours go by before I catch something. I am not at a computer 90% of the day, most of my activity is done through my phone during small breaks I get throughout the day- so clearly we need someone soon.

In the meantime, everyone has the ability to report a post- when you do this, it goes to the personal e-mail inbox of every moderator so we can deal with it, and it's a big help to the moderators as well.

There are plenty of very capable, intelligent people who contribute to ED that I'd love to see apply. Moderating is not about being a complete expert on the topic of your forum- there are certainly people here who know more about MDMA than I. No one should feel intimidated by the idea of applying- I was up to maybe 800 posts when I became a moderator myself.
 
Bsiren...are there ceratin threads for which you need mods, or are you short staffed to the point that you guys are all generalists at the moment? Also, how much time do you spend each day checking the threads?

George- moderators moderate the entire forum that they are assigned to (for me it's Ecstasy Discussion), if Bearlove finds a post that goes against our guidelines before me, he will moderate it and visa versa.

I don't personally work at a computer, so my time is limited to having about 5 minutes every hour or so when I'm at workon my phone- usually if you see a post from me that's over 1-2 lines long it's done when I get home. Everyone is very individual with their time involvement on here, some devote 7+ hours, some (like me) only have 1-2 they spread throughout the day.

Yeah i'm mainly interested in the dopamine package too, my serotonin system is all good but i've kicked the shit outta my dopamine package.
Do i get free drugs for joining the team?
 
It's pretty sweet, we have pillow pet cuddle puddles, light show orgies, Vick's sponsors us so we get unlimited inhalers and Vapo Rub to burn our septum's with! :P We're working on sponsorship from Stride so we can get that flavor changing gum too!
