There is no forgiveness nor was there ever
Never in my life was I able to let go
My memories of failure that I cannot sever
Plague my mind with fears that I cannot outgrow
Each mistake that I make is just an addition
To a world of wrongs rest upon my back
Like a grieving Atlas suffering contrition
As all my surroundings fade to black
The burdens I bear I can never let go
They are me within and without
Bound to my sins as I crumble so slow
And am buried alive in my doubts

It's been so long. I never thought I'd be at a point in my life where I'd write something like this again.

Very tidily rhymed, with good flow and rhyth. Pity it takes such awful feelings to create such good poetry. Hang in there and this time will pass as it always does. *huge hugs*

the best of art is created in the crucible of passion, positive or negative. :)

unfortunately, depression, regret and others of the 'down' persuasion stir the passions most. :(

mysticalis, if you've been here before, then it means you left here at some point. the cycle has come again. take heart in the fact that you won't be here forever. also, the past has been written. it's history, chiselled in stone. it cannot be changed, only learned from. let go of past mistakes, they can't be redressed. generally, just let go. easy advice, hard practice. :\

**hugs**
