Did you not get some papes that describe the effects of the drug when you got it prescribed? If not, talk to your doctor...

The effect is anti-anxiety, as your doctor told you. If you're new to benzos, then generally you'll feel relaxed and at ease, but it won't blow you out of the water (unless you take more than recommended and drink heavily <--- NOT advised, blackout city).
Be very careful mixing with any alcohol/opiates.

Oh, didn't realize you had tried others because you asked if you could swallow the pill for effect, which should be a given if you've taken medication before. If you've taken ativan, why are you asking what the effects are? You should know from your experience.
What else is there to tell?

i like sublingual for ativan.. they dissolve almost instantly in your mouth and take hold a few minutes later.

sublingual kicks in faster also the effects seem to be stronger with all benzos at least to me it would take alot more if swallowed how can I get higher effects more than sublingual I have a high tolerance and I don't want to use all my drugs to fast.

Put those little suckers under your tongue....they dissolve better then suboxone haa...they usually completely dissolve and taste wonderful......great ROA

under the tongue, let it dissolve freely. BEST. I have been on Benzo & oxycodone for 12 steady months. PM me anytime for details. etc...

I could be mistaken, but I believe Ativan (Lorazepam) is one of very few benzodiazepines with an intranasal bioavailability that isn't entirely worthless. It isn't the best ROA, of course, but the drip tastes fantastic (sweet) and what's one more bump when I'm about to crush up and snort a couple of roxies anyway. You know? ;)

IMO ativan (aka lorazepam) is a bit more sedating and mental as opposed to anxiolytic and physically relaxing. It has a bit of everything though.
Tolerance is a major issue when it comes to benzos. I'm sure someone better than me will know a few sustances which have a minor effect on benzo tolerance. But you just have to slow down, take a break, or deal with it, as we all do. Nothing will lower your tolerance in any serious way.
