Benzos ativan with psychedelic effects

Well last night, a friend took .5 ativan ( lorazapam) and then snorted .25 more.. about 10 hours later in the day, that night, she was smoking weed and began to hallucinate. Crazy visualizations when her eyes were closed.... very organized and very neon .She has done L and mushrooms many times and this was quite different and intense!! and fun!!! anyone have an idea what was going on
 
Never heard of visual hallucinations from a benzodiazepine. But weed is capable of producing such effects, although somewhat rarely, and usually at colossal doses.

I've hallucinated from ganja food, but it was made with insanely potent butter...and was uncomfortably powerful. People sometimes forget that several of the psychotropic constituents of marijuana are classified as hallucinogens, including THC.

Anyway, glad it was fun and not scary or anything;)
 
I have heard of "trippy" z-drug like effects from high doses of Ativan in those with no tolerance, but the amount of Ativan consumed was quite little, and 10 hrs had elapsed before smoking the weed.
 
I have hallucinated off weed before.. n they were very different hallucinations from LSD/Mushrooms etc... some times benzos can also cause visual disturbances I guess... read it in a patient info leaflet the other night :).
 
yeah, i had a benzo addiction for years..., and it had been about 6 months off until yesterday. i do smoke weed everyday and have for most my life.. I am sure it was the THC that had a huge effect but I am trying to see if anyone else has had or even heard of anything like this. Haha yeah Morphonorconic, my buddies and I used to make some really good ganja food.. make like dinners and what not. usually an entree with gangja mashed potatoes, weed rice ,weed cake for desert!

but yeah man, it was really cool! I actually just took 2 mg of ativan to see if it happens again tonight :! I got some really nice hash plant buds to test it again! wish me luck!
 
yeah i read some things online today about it, but didnt get anytihing concrete at all... but yeah its very diff than Lucy or mushrooms...well organized.. hard to explain really... this might sound hard to understand but I liked it better than a light L trip because I was in complete control. Thats why tonight i decided to get the ROOR (waterbng) out, and doubled the mg... I hope it wasnt a one time thing!
