Ativan (Lorazapam)

I was just prescribed Ativan for Anxiety that I get on occasions, and it was free since my medical covered it. I already have Anxiety medication so I have no use for this Ativan. It's 0.5 mg and Sublingual.

I know this has recreational potential, but how much? Is it euphoric? Is it even a strong benzo?

I've familiar with only two benzo's. Oxazepam and Alprazolam. I don't like Oxazepam because it's too weak and doesn't produce any euphoria, and Xanax just doesn't do it for me either, there's no euphoria with it.

Also, is there an up side to having the Sublingual pills? What's the difference other then a faster absorbtion? Will it produce more effects and a stronger rush then the oral pills?
 
lorazepam can be a fun time. contradicting what was previously said id go for 6mg :) get fucked up n have a good time, prolly wont remember tho ha
 
Weak in my opinion. If you have any tolerance to stronger benzos such as Xanax it may do nothing for you. If it does it might feel like you have had a drink or 2...

I haven't taken Xanax in a LONG time. Over a year. When I was taking it I could take up to 4mg before blacking out.
 
How fast is Ativan tolerance supposed to go up?

I have 0.5mg for insomnia, and I separated my first 2 doses by 4 days and yet the second time I hardly felt any sedation.

Do I already have a tolerance?

Goes up quickly.. it's a weak benzo for "insomnia"... I would bring it up to your dr.

Just because your "tolerance" goes up doesn't mean you will lose the anti-anxiety effects.. but for insomnia.. it will just stop making you tired...
 
I get it sometimes. It makes me sleepy and drunk and that's a half miligram. I don't like it. Temazapam might be better for insomnia.
 
Ativan is one of my favorite benzos. Its up there with Valium,Restoril, and Xanax. Whenever I take a large amount of Ativan I feel similar but less spaced out then when I take Restoril. I was once prescribed 1mg Ativan tablets and they never did shit for me. Now if I were to take 4mg it puts me in a Very relaxed mood and I sleep like a baby.

Your on a very low dose. Feeling sedation from 0.5mg of Lorazepam seems nearly impossible. Tolerance to benzodiazepines does happen quick though. It doesn't take longer than a week for many.

If you didn't find alprazolam euphoric, I doubt you would find lorazepam to be euphoric. For many people, myself included, benzodiazepines are not euphoric or recreational (by themselves anyway). Lorazepam feels relatively mild compared to alprazolam, and it lacks the fast and fierce nature of xanax as well. But, it's subtlety does make it preferable in certain situations (i.e. when you want to be calm, but not obviously impaired).

Benzos do make the effects of other depressant drugs stronger (more enjoyable to some as well), but this is potentially dangerous. The potentiation can be extreme, easily leading to overdose.
 
I don't care much for benzos in general except for Triazolam, but out of all the ones I have tried Lorazapam was by far my least favorite. I've tried Xanax, Klonopin, Triazolam, and Lorazapam. 1mg will do something to you, no euphoria though.

How someone could 'enjoy' Triazolam is just beyond me. It KO's you out before you can feel anything near enjoyment. Just my opinion
 
I was snorting them. Might not make much of a difference but I never took any of them, all I did was snort and i absolutely loved those things. Only benzo I ever got real euphoria from. Never had any urge to sleep either. Everyone reacts different i guess
 
Actually now that I think about it I was taking Wellbutrin 200mg everyday while I had the triazolam so that probably had something to do with it
