I have diabetic neuropathy and have taken Gabapinton (Neurontin) for years. And I also am prescribed Oxycodone for the severe pain caused by tangled nerves in my lower spine. You can research this on the web it is everywhere, Nuerontin takes about 20 - 25% from any opiate effects. And taken together the Neurontin is increased up to 40%. So the way I do mine is take the Oxy then about 2 hours later the Neurontin dose. If you take them together the opiate will make the Neurontin effect up to 40% more potent and reduce the opiate effect.
Taking the doses this way for me seems to enhance the later effects of the opiate. Once the opiate effect has peaked then take the Neurontin dose.
Here is a link to get you started on this opiate effect with Neurontin and explain the facts on the drug from the minds of Neurontin users. It has many things that it is good for as far as medication goes.

In my case the Neurontin is prescribed for absence seizures and the diabetic neuropathy. And I take 600mg 3 times a day have for years. I never even know I have taken a drug as far as the neurontin goes except it relieves the nerve pain in my legs and it helps control the tremors I have. It works wonders for neurotic pain. And other than tremors (sometimes bad) the neurontin has pretty much controlled my seizures for over 8 years. And also I will say that high doses of Oxy in me will cause the tremors to be worse also. I would be scared to try high doses (over 100mg) of tramadol because of my seizures.
As far as a recreational use for Neurontin as far as I am concerned there is none. It is not even worth the effort. And my Oxycodone script is for 30mg doses up to 4 times a day. I seldom use over 60mg a day though. In fact I prefer to use the Oxy 60mg at one time and in the evenings as the neuropathy pain and suffering is much worse at night. Sometimes I will split a 30mg and take half in the morning and half midday just to help with the pain in my legs and back. Just pain relief is all I get from the small dose. But I am limited to crutches to walk so the leg pain is SEVERE.
As for the Tramadol to me it is a waste because of my high tolerance for the Oxy. And I never have messed with Ativan. There is lots of talk about the Neurontin and Tramadol being an ok mix because of the seizure possibilities of the Tramadol at high doses. Neurontin is an antiseizure medication. I will tell you this from a seizure sufferer's point of view I sure wouldn't diddle with Tramadol at high doses, seizures are something you sure don't want to deal with unless it is as in my case forced on you..
But my experience with Neurontin is only as a PRESCRIBED medication. For a couple years the Oxy is also prescription only. But I have had 30 years street experience with Opiate addiction long before I started taking Neurontin. If not for the severe pain I suffer believe me I wouldn't touch the opiates. I know the pain of addiction. Such a great high and such a killer suffering through WD's, been there 100's of times and it isn't a good place to be.
