Ativan - Dangerous Interactions?

I used the search function, google and even the link (which I might add is absolutely fucking useless) in the benzo megathread. What recreational drugs are UNSAFE to use on benzos. A complete list would be so much appreciated, as there are quite a few drugs I do use recreationally (although surprisingly no addictions even to the harder stuff). Thanks so much in advance =D
 
Depends on what you mean by "safe".

Could a high dose of benzos cause you to do something that leads to you dying, like crashing a care, sure. Could benzos alone kill you, probably not.

Benzo's by them self are pretty safe, you'll probably pass out way before you'd even be able to do anything harmful, however mixed with other drugs can be problems. Some swear that opiates+benzos = death, and it does slow down CNS a lot, however a bigger problem is doing so many benzo's your so retarded you shoot up a few grams of heroin at once, not knowing, and die. Alcohol is another great way to end up in a bad situation, while benzos+alcohol alone can be a problem, more likely you're going to end up being super drunk-benzoed and in turn do stupid things.

So overall, benzos are pretty safe alone, and not the end of the world to mix, but at the minimum can cause bad side effects, and if completely used poorly together could ause straight out side effects, like respitory depression
 
So doing drugs like ketamine, coke, acid and stuff will be fine as long as I don't do copious amount of said drug in 1 sitting yes? Sorry, just want to be really clear in the name of harm reduction.

Just because something can technically be done, doesn't mean its a good idea.

Ketamine+Benzo: Going in the same direction, don't do a ton and can be done safe and could have nice effects.

Coke: Not worth it to do at same time. Do the coke, wait till the comedowm, then benzos.

Acid: Benzos will actually stop an acid trip, youd wate the acid if you did this. Although acid and benzos are both really hard to OD on alone, so you could do a ton together, it would just be a massive waste
 
K and benzos can be a decent combination depending on the benzo. I would use a less potent one myself, because I don't like to fuck with a K-hole.

Generic: Lorazepam

Interactions can be found on drugs.com and many other websites.

Since it's a CNS depressant, do not take it in excess with other CNS depressants, especially opiates.
 
^great information and yes, drug interactions checkers will be the best for checking about specific pharmaceuticals and jamtastic covered the basics of those illicit drugs pretty well.

Combination questions are really better suited for BDD so I'll send this over there. Good responses so far though. Any sedative, especially opioids and alcohol, will potentially be dangerous mixed with benzos. Next the real danger with benzos doesn't lie in them destroying organs but in the disinhibition and amnesia (blacking out) that lead you to do stupid shit that you don't remember, we've seen PLENTY of examples of this.

Also it makes a big difference if you're talking about a therapeutic dose you are taking daily (like .5-2mg) that you are very tolerant to or a recreational dose that has you retarded.

I do mean taking the ativan 1mg/day in the morning type thing to treat my anxiety problems. I do not plan to use them recreationally. I have no plans to exceed the 1mg/day dose, but would still like to be able to do recreational drugs.
 
NO JOKE but Ativan atleast these killer purepacs are intense as shit. I had a very unusual encounter last night. Almost hallucinations but more of a head fuck it felt verrrrry unpleasant I don't know if it was me or the pills probably both. unsafe for nontolerant depending on you and what not dont go over 10mgs or 12mgs with tolerance and non tolerant or rare or daily and take low doses, no more than 4mgs.....maybe 3mgs at max They Are a Lot different then most benzos think klonopin but the sleepy groggy is there not the subtle klonopin feeling.
 
and methadone.....I found methadone with any benzos when you first start especially with an increased dose always cut your benzo dose in half. Extremely low breathing was experienced with mainly only valium, klonopin, and ativan
 
Blacking out from drinking on ativan can still happen while taking your therapeutic dose. Even though it has a short to medium half-life compared to other benzos, you can still black out if you drink several hours after taking it.

I was prescribed xanax which is short acting, and I would sometimes black out if I drank a lot even though I had only taken 1mg earlier that day.

What?! What kind of crappy acid have you gotten? It will definitely shift the perception in your trip but it will NOT waste the acid. I've taken all kinds of xanax and valium while trippin' out and all it did was bring my roll (i was candy-flipping) down to a manageable level. I have heard that it can bring you out of a freak out, but it will NOT cancel out the acid. Same goes with mushrooms and most other psychedelics.

I have used Ativan with 5-htp and/or alcohol and/or weed and/or tobacco and/or zopiclone and/or coffee and/or benadryl. At least at lower dose/tolerance it WILL NOT do anything bad

I love them I should have had more but I don't need to get on that road again. They dissolve so quick once they hit your mouth its a tasty sugary paste. Very very good indeedy. Someone mentioned drinking and ativan. Never do that. I hallucinated went unconncious and talked to myself all while some asshole recorded it because I thought it was fun until I saw what I did it was scary. But I don't drink. Alcohol sucks. Been there drank that......
 
agreed with bananas about no drinking with ativan -- ativan just hits you so hard you end up just passing out... and feeling like shit the next day --- i dont drink much a beer here and there anymore too so cheers bananas to "been there drank that thats for damn sure -- but besides that ativan alone is just great. i take it for anxiety and when i get a bad anxiety attack cures it so fast and calms me down... problem is you can build up a tolerance to it over the years and if you go in to the hospital for any type of operation or ex: i went in for an endoscopy and i had to let them know the tolerance i have to ativan bc most use this drug and i would have wwoke up half way through -- would not be pleasent
