Benzos ativan and weed negative reaction in combination

anyone ever get sick after taking ativan or another benzos and smoking weed? i never had it happen myself but a friend of mine would get nauseous and vomit. if he took either alone he was fine. it has happen at least 3 times and everytime it was right after smoking. i dont know anyone else that this happens to. he doesnt have much of a tolerance especially compared to me. about the only difference i can think of. it's just weird how 2 drugs that are great for treating nausea would make someone sick in combination. my only guess would be low tolerance to marijuana and it was too much. i've never puked from pot myself though. only alcohol.
 
I suffer from bad anxiety and get highly paranoid when I smoke weed, so normally for me the only time I can smoke is when I'm on a benzo..
 
I'm the same as maddawg. Benzos + weed take away each other's side effects for me. It's generally a combo very well tolerated, your friend is having quite the atypical reaction.
 
when i was younger i used to almost always puke if i drank alcohol and then smoked weed. the combination of the two was too much for me when i was a lightweight and the room would start spinning. its likely that its the same for your friend smoking on top of benzos. probably too much for him. might want to stick to a nice calm indica next time you smoke with him
 
he doesnt get it anymore. he didnt do them together for the longest time and after time passed it seems he gained a bit of a tolerance to weed and he no longer pukes. cant say if that is the reason but the only thing i can think of. i've smoked a shitload of weed and never puked. i've also taken way too much ativan in just a 12 hour period several times and never puked. unless i just dont remember but i think i would have been too impaired to clean it up. i would pretty must lose memory of what happen and wake up. never did nothing stupid, usually wake up in bed or the chair. woke up with food in my mouth one time LOL. after i just slept for a very long time. never drank a lot of alcohol with them nor will i. weed is for sure an excellent combo. we smoke all different kinds of strains, indicas, sativas, hybrids, but we prefer the more sativa hybrid strains. usually have a minimum of 5 jars each a different strain.
