Ativan and Tramadol

UPDATED 3/25/2013: I am taking 100mg of tramadol, and .5-1mg of ativan. I am also taking atenolol 25mg for blood pressure. Is this a safe mix?

Generally it's not a safe idea to mix opioids and benzos without a doctor's supervision, but those are low doses and it also helps if you have a tolerance to one or the other (not sure if you do?).

I think in this case it is safe to say it's safe. High doses of tramadol (400+mgs) are often combined with clonazepam to prevent seizures (by a doctor).

at that dose it looks safe but I'm not a doctor nor do I give medical advice

it is actually safer to take ativan wth tramadol because tramadol greatly lowers seizure threshld and ativan has good anti-convulsant properties including raising the seizure threshold

^That may be true for low doses like these, but I would not say it's a good idea in high doses. They are both CNS depressants.

Okay guys.. Modified post. I am wondering if I can mix Tramadol 100mg, Ativan .5-1mg, and Atenolol 25 in one dose?

It depends on the dose of each. What are we talking about?

EDIT: The doses you mentioned above will be fine. Just don't go higher on the tramadol.

I'm talking about 25mg of atenolol, 100mg of tramadol, and .5mg of ativan. I just took it, so we'll see what happens and if I survive.

In the future, try not to go into a drug experience without knowing if it is safe or not.

That being said, it is at these dosages.
