At home remedies to help with a bladder infection..

So I woke up pissing blood this morning and feeling pain in my bladder over my fentanyl and roxies... So I went to the dr who tested my urine, apparantly I have one of the worst bladder infections they have seen in a while. She scripted me Cipro and Phenazopyridine which numbs the urinary tract to help with the pain... I turned down perc 10's and Norco because if I feel the pain over fent and roxi there's no point in adding other medications...

So aside from cranberry juice what are at home remedies for UTI/Bladder infections? Any information will be much appretiated. I feel like shit, and I am looking on google but if anybody knows anything from personal experience or just because they're smart like that I would be forever greatful!! Thanks all!!

I guess bladder infections are common for opiate users due to urinary retention... but I dont have a problem with that... but I have one anyways..
 
Oh my, hon.....how awful...bladder infections suck! :0( Unfortunately, there isn't too much you can do except wait for the antibiotics to start working. Cran juice is an overstated myth for the most part...every Urologist I've worked with has said you'd literally have to drink 100's of gallons of the stuff to make any difference.

The best thing to do is take your meds, drink LOTS and lots of fluids, and rest.

Yea it sucks.... It came on super fast... I was fine last night.. then this morning it was like BAM! Yea, I have some cranberry juice.. but I find water to be helping the most... Thanks Alot :)

Yeah, I was sorta wondering that, too. Anyway my wife had one and got some otc pills called azos (or something like that) and said they helped.
 
I don't take pills with APAP and CWE annoys me... I am under contract with my pain management dr to not get other pills but I can if the situation warrants it if I call them... I also thought it would look good considering she was calling everyone a drug addict at my last appt. It's just percocet or Norco... lol I guess you can call me an Opiate snob... lulz

Is it the stuff that turns your pee orange? If it is I got the scripted stuff for that... it's a Urinary tract analgesic... I didn't know what the OTC stuff was called, but if that's what it is I am gonna go to the store and get more tommorow... I am double dosing what was scripted to me so it no longer feels like im pissing hot glass shards... If it's something else what is it and what does it do cause I will try anything to make this situation better.

Also if fentanyl and Roxicodone aren't making the pain go away I doubt anything will.... that's basically why I turned down extra opiates.
