I'm currently on 60mg a day diazepam and need to start seriously considering a taper or another way to come off this. I really struggle with reading any type of scientific papers or making sense of the Ashton method due to learning difficulties. Is there anyway it could be broken down to make it more simple for me? I am sorry to ask for this.

Also could Gabapentin help with this? Just asking as I have a decent amount of that laying around.

I tapered off of 80 mg a day kinda quickly and went thru three months of hell when i finally jumped off altogether at 7.5 mg a day,,I didn’t have to go to work and deal with people because there was no way that I could of handled that,,I just couldn’t continue doing what I was doing everyday and decided to stop as quick as possible…if I remember correctly dropping it down too around 20 mg a day was pretty uneventful but I should have took my time and made smaller decreases over longer periods of time but to be honest I didn’t have a clue on how bad things would get until it was too late then I just dealt with it,,all I did was smoke a lot of weed while going thru it…

Couldn’t you go to a medical physician and tell them entire story?

you require a safe, gradual dose reduction daily/weekly until your on Diazepam 2mg tablets which are scored and can be halved …….Valium 1mg X 3 daily at the end

*Diazepam 1mg X 3 daily
*Preg 75mg / 150mg X 2 or 3 daily (many medical journals state Lyrica (Pregabalin) is very effective in reducing benzodiazepine craving/usage, reducing withdrawal symptoms, has potent anxiolytic & anticonvulsant effects
*Clonidine 0.1mg tablets X 2 daily

These 3 medications would be a god send in safely reducing benzodiazepines while you’re working and living your demanding life.

Tell doctor he can request a pill count anytime, and you want a safe gradual dose reduction so you’re free from benzodiazepine drugs…..tell doc an addiction specialist said these 3 compounds are used with great success and he said to mention to your physician, as he cannot take on any new patients at clinic etc

You request the lowest possible dose, and Diazepam with its long half-life and active metabolites are the gold standard for benzodiazepine cessation…..in addition to low dose Pregabalin 150mg and Clonidine 0.1 tablet before bed

Good luck…….SOMEONE should write you a script for these…….this is a serious situation and they would be putting an individual/patient etc at health risks, seizures, not able to preform at work and loose job etc
