I have been using this for my hands lately, and love it. It's the only thing that actually helps me. My hands are so dry that they crack and bleed. :(

I am very seriously considering some compounding since I do have a lot of experience at it. I was going to mix the hemp hand cream with a pre-made cannabis tincture that has had most of the alcohol evaporated away. I know that cannabis tincture, applied topically, really helps my hands and joints in the past. So, I thought a little experimentation would be in order.

Has anyone else tried compounding creams and lotions with a tincture? I am also open to any other ideas as to how to get the cannabis into the hemp cream too. The thought had crossed my mind that the extra added alcohol, no matter how small, might be too drying.

I love to experiment with this kind of stuff.

The dispensary by my house sells the tincture in a little brown spray bottle but I haven't ever tried it. You say it works well? Does it soak in and change your consciousness or do you use it solely for topical pain relief?

They sell legal creams like this, I dunno how much THC (if any) is in them though, they do the same thing, made from Hemp.

enough actives to give you a headache if you were silly enough to try and get high off of them by doing some sort of extract.

I use this solely for topical pain relief. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and it is very painful. The tincture really helps the pain and inflammation. I don't get a buzz from it, though. When I need more pain relief, I will vaporize some hash, or take some oral tincture. I can also make a quick edible too.

***BTW, I make my own cannabis tincture at home. I don't get it at a dispensary.

Yes, I know they sell legal hemp creams. I put a link to the legal hemp cream that I am using now, but I'll post it again. :)

There is no THC in these creams that can get you high. Here is a description of the ingredients, and how this cream works. ***Keep in mind, I am wanting to add some active cannabis to this cream. ;)

* Community Trade hemp seed oil has an unusually high concentration of essential fatty acids that help to repair skin's moisture barrier, so skin is smooth and supple.
* Community Trade organic beeswax moisturizes and conditions; acts as a barrier to seal in moisture.

or you could use an oil base and that way there is no worry about the alcohol.

That thought also crossed my mind, but I am not sure how well it would mix with the hemp hand cream. It would seem I need to do a little more research before I actually attempt to do this. I don't want to waste any cannabis. I also don't want to ruin this hemp cream, it's also quite expensive.

Oh? How did you learn to do that? I'm intrigued... you are like the first pharmacists!

I just did some research on the Internet. I got my compounding experience working in Pharmacy. ;)

I was really surprised how easy it was too. I use Everclear for my drinkable tincture, and ISO alcohol for topical tincture. =D
