Certain strains introduced to the upper intestinal tract can actually prove fatal, causing renal failure. Um, men don't get UTIs very often regardless of their sexual practices simply b/c they have very long urethras.

Whether women get UTIs from sex or not is going to vary greatly depending on anatomy -- length of urethra, placement of urethra and clitoris, etc.
