Asking my doctor about Valium/benzos while on dexamphetamine?

Hi, I am currently prescribed with dexamphetamine for ADD/concentration issues. I have recently experimented with benzos for sleep/anxiety and found it works great along with the dex as it gives a sense of calmness while being alert. I plan to use these for my schooling as I find sometimes I feel as if i get panic attacks (not sure if thats what it is), and benzos just make me feel good, relaxed, and calm in general.

I am currently getting my dex from a specialist doctor that prescribes it, and have wondered if I should be asking him to prescribe me valium alongside the dex? Is my doctor likely to agree with this? I have been seeing this specialist doctor for years since I was a young child.

My other option is go to a general doctor to ask for a benzo script (without my specialist doctor knowing), though I have tried this and got knocked back before.

Thoughts?

We have no idea what your doctor will say or do. But being prescribed both benzos and amphetamines is not rare.

We can't tell you what to say to a doctor to get drugs on this forum. It is also impossible for us to tell you what your doctor will or will not prescribe.

i was on adderall and klonopin at the same time from my family doctor, a few times he actually lectured me how "adderall is a stimulant and klonopin is a depressant" and that the adderall will just make my anxiety and panic worse, and the klonopin's effects will be diminished from the stimulating properties of adderall. He still let me stay on both, i told him i dont take adderall every single day so it works out, and i dont take klonopin every single day, but trust me MOST DOCTORS will do the picking and choosing for you and not give u the benefit of the doubt of being on what YOU WANT TO BE ON.
