See page 15 of The Age for 3/2/01. It's called "Ecstasy con: it's the unreal thing". It's kind of interesting.
 
According to the Victorian police drug squad, less than 10 per cent of the "ecstasy" on the Australian market comes from overseas. The real thing - likely to be these imported tablets - generally contains MDMA. The remaining 90-plus per cent is Australian made and the chances of a locally made tablet containing even a trace of ecstasy are negligible.

not a bad article actually, resonably factual, good how they differentiated between imports and local pills and between educated E users and people who drop anything

Yeah not too bad... Will hopefully help the harm minimisation cause...
But are they really finding herion and coke in some pills? ...maybe the pill makers don't even know that its pretty much useless eating herion...

Private prisons??? There are people doing e's in prison?? Not many a rave in there I don't think! I wonder if they get many glowstix hidden inside cakes and smuggeled in from outside!
I suppose if I was in prison, there is not much else to do with you day!
A pretty funny thought though! Heaven help the poor bastard who ends up in the shower with a 6'4" inmate, who is pilling of his gord and loved up to the max! ;}
 
I think I remember reading somewhere that heroin and amphetamines are far more popular in prisons (not sure if that's here, or the USA) than marijuana, because they are passed from the body much quicker, and are therefore less likely to show up on a random drug test.

I can't believe that 90% of the pills seized are mainly non-MDMA based Aussie ones. I'm not trying to boast here but most of the ones I get are MDxx (test black)....is this because I have a reasonably good connection or because my DD knows not to even try selling me non-black testing pills?
Do most ppl at raves/clubs buy crappy speedy/other pills from strangers?
At least this article was not blatant ignorant anti-drug propaganda like that front-page Herald Scum article a few weeks ago.
 
e's are HIGHLY uncommon in prisons. Dope and heroin are the most common, so too are steriods but there's really no point in taking e in prison - I've visited people in prison, and that's what they have to say about the drugs. ,
Apparently one bloke in this one particular prison has made over $80,000 in 3 years from selling drugs inside, and the only way that the drugs can come in are via the mouth (ie, wife puts it in her mouth when she visits, passes it to Mr. X via a kiss, Mr. X swallows and waits a few days for a package in the toilet). I was quite amused, yet rivoted at the time I heard it!!
