Arrest for Fentanyl-contaminated Heroin

No it's not. Puritans, racists, and the chemical/pharmaceutical industry make drugs illegal. There were few serious problems 100 (or 40) years ago when (many) drugs were legal. Stigmatization and black markets lead to almost all of the problems. These days about the only serious problem with legal drugs would be DWI and we already have that problem and it's not going away.

God I'm sick of you ignorant fools who think drugs are illegal for any reason other than the fact that they re-wire people's brains to persue drugs instead of legitimate life. Thats why they're illegal. Not because of the huge government conspiracy, but because if another 2-3% of our population was hooked on drugs that'd be another 2-3% that was super easily manipulated and didn't have the possibility of contributing anything to society other than filling landfils with discarded needles.

Maybe im in the minority here, but the less heroin users on the streets the better.

If that were the case, other drugs that didn't lend themselves to abuse as much would never have been banned. I'm afraid the history and justifications for prohibition are a lot more complicated than just our friendly, forward thinking government looking out for economic productivity.

On-Topic:

I saw today on the ABC news station for Chicago that one of the men arrested in connection with the fentanyl going around is now being charged with drug-induced homicide. Curiously the person he killed also happened to be not only a drug addict, but the son of an important police figure.

Anyway, just figured someone would be interested in that. Because it was on TV I don't exactly have a link or source for it, but I'm sure that someone could find something about this somewhere.
