Arm is messed up after IV heroin

its been almost a year since I first IV'd anything , and. its been about 6months since I have IV'd heroin. I've still used Needles once in awhile since I stopped doing H but it was always with morphine or those 30mg oxycodones (the ones that are white and have the [M] logo on one side). So anyways, Friday night I ended up getting a free 40bag of H and so I figured what the hell, lets have some fun and I shot up twice that night, twice last night, and then I cooked up the last piece of the H and shot it.

Now I have missed before with H and so I can tell when it has happened and I definitely didn't miss this time. I got the vein first try and pulled back the plunger to make surecwas in, which I was, and then I pushed that bitch down and released my tie-off and bam I wasj high as fuck. which is the other reason I know I didn't miss cause if I had, I wouldn't have gotten the rush and wouldn't still be high since it takes time for the drug to absorb into your system when you miss. So since I definitely didn't miss, I don't understand why there's a pretty big swollen bump on my arm where I injected as well as some other bumps of various size going up the same arm. and the arm is red and a bit itchy. does anyone know why the hell this happened? It's kinda freaking me out. the other bumps are pretty small but the main one at the injection is like almost golf ball size. like I said, I know I didn't miss, and if I did, it wouldn't bee a bunch of bumps, it woukd just be the single bubble/bump. maybe its an allergic reaction or something. whatever it is I just want it gone. right now I got an icepack on there, gonna switch to heat in a bit. but I am hoping someone can explain why this happened and how to fix it.
 
Yeh bro in my personal opinion an I'm sure I'm not gonna be the only one to say this but a forum is no place for a medical emergency it sounds like ur concerned an usually that means goto a doctor we can't tell u exactly what it is if ur sure its not a miss then I would certainly get it checked out especially if it don't go away after a day or 2 id rather my doctor know I iv Shit then lose my ARM ya know maybe someone else can elaborate better but if ur sure it aint jus a miss an it don't go down after atleast a day or 2 an if the bump is kinda hard like a rock is be worried mysef an would def get t checked out but maybe someone smarter might have better info but that's just my 2 cents on the situation when u iv sometimes bad Shit can happen an u don't wanna sit an wait around on a forum for someone to tell u its ok as ur arms blowing up an becoming infected personally goto a doctor if it don't go down after a short amount of time cuz u said ur positive it ain't a miss so it could be something more serious do u use clean syringes an cottons?
 
is it red and blotchy and somewhat itchy? your description sounds like an histamine release from unreacted morphine left over in the heroin.

how big is this main lump?

as mentioned above, keep an eye on it over the next few days for deterioration, where it's best to seek proper medical attention. see another dr or emergency room if you don't want your usual GP finding out about your extra curricular private activities.

in the mean time keep a hot compress over the area, alternating with a cool wrap. and keep us updated.
 
its only been like 2 hours since it happened lol not 2 days. did I mistype that or something haha. I'm not worried about it, the swelling as already gone down in some of the bumps. I just don't get that if I didn't miss, then why is it swollen.

kinda. you can't really see the bumps. You can feel em tho. at least you could of a bit ago. now those are gone and ita just the big ass bump at the injection site. it was all red and itchy a lil bit ago. I just don't get how it's swollen so big if I didn't miss. the histamine release thing makes sense, I've done that before, but that only accounts for the small bumps that already went away. but the big ass bump that is the size of a golf ball doesn't fit the M.O. of histamine release.
 
It's most probably an allergic reaction. You know who's really good at determining and treating these things?

no way, a doctor. crazy, didn't think about that....lol its not a medical emergency. I don't need a doctor, I was just asking for opinions from people with experience. so I don't know why people keep suggesting to go see a doctor over something so minute like this. obviously if it was something worse and became a medical issue I would seek medical attention but its not. and this is part of the reasons these forums exist. harm reduction.

You mean if your heroin is doing that. If your heroin is contaminated use a micron filter. Try to filter your solution twice before injecting. Even still, contaminants will most probably make their way through. Change your dealer.
 
you pierce through your skin and subsequently your vein, so when you're exiting the shot there's chance that some of that solution is going to leak, just a teeny bit, causing the histamine reaction at the site of injection. otherwise it occurs just as any other histamine reaction does.
