I very rarely pop pills, mostly because no one in my circle of friends are into it.

I don't like doing it alone, but I have no clue how to find new friends in my area.

How do you guys keep it a secret?
also how do I find people in my area to chill with?

I was kind of the same boat. Do you have any dance or EDM clubs in your area? We have many dance clubs and it amazed me the first time to see half the club rollin.

If I am at a place and I want to keep it a secret , I just tell them I am drunk , they usally leave me alone.

Good luck on finding some roll buddies. I have met many good friends via MDMA
 
Your friends don't have to do it, but why not bring them along to clubs/parties? You will probably find that they will want to do it once they see how much fun you are having.

What is EDM club?

Anyway, yea, there's a bunch of clubs in houston... I just never go 'cause I was never in that scene as I was growing up.

My friends pretty much look down on it all.

It's lame to go to a club or rave by yourself, right? haha

I've been to shows/concerts with specific DJ's (A&B, Gareth)... but it didn't feel like a real rave, ya know?

Yea.. I've brought them to see A&B with me and such... it's not really their thing.

idk if it's lame but you can still have a lot of fun and meet people.

i've had heaps of fun at raves when i went by myself and friends dogged it, but then again i was on acid, maybe that had something to do with it, haha.
 
In my close group of friends, I'm the only one who does anything but drinking.
But I have another group of friends that I use with.

I don't even care where I go...

I just don't like rolling by myself.
Seems like I'm missing out on a lot of fun I read everyone's stories.
 
Seriously dude, raves are one of the few places where you don't really need to come with people to have fun. Remember, just about everyone there is super fucked up and very friendly. Just being there and having a story "my friends hate on me for rolling and won't come =(" will have people FLOCKING to you. You'll make fuckton of friends, so get numbers and facebooks and begin hanging out outside of the raves.

JUST DO IT YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! =)

That sounds ideal... I'll have to find out when a rave is going on, I guess.

I assume a rave is different from going to see a DJ spin at a venue, right?
The Dj spinning at venues are pretty public and easy access.

I assume raves are tougher to find?

You can always meet some cool friends at raves. For whatever reason, me getting excited about doing E seems to be contagious. At a particular rave that was huge, I'd met some friends of friends, told them how I was going to do E and 3 other people ended up doing it for their first time also. I'd been so excited, and to be able to get to know people on that level from the very beginning was amazing :)

any good website with source of raves by area?

I googled "Houston Rave" and ended up with one or two events from DJ's... but other than that, just some news articles.
 
832 im in the same boat you are. Was just thinking about that the other night. My only rollin buddy is my GF. Let me know if u find any good raves in H- Town
 
i would say one word of warning about going to raves alone... how friendly people are depends on the scene for the particular music your listening to in that town. i've been to raves where the vibe was not at all friendly if you're white and not a g, like if you can tell people are looking you up and down while you're off your tits and get a bad atmosphere from them, they must be pretty hostile. somewhere in another thread i saw someone whinging about people trying to act like hardmen fucked on e, this is what you should avoid.

you need to go to one where people don't take themselves too seriously! this is v city and venue dependent but i'm sure there's ppl here who can advise you. incidentally, if anyone has similar advice about leeds, would be much appreciated!

let us know how it goes- i'm in a similar predicament. though actually my friends have reacted so badly to discovering that i occasionally like drugs that at this rate i wont have any- i don't think they'll dump me but i don't know how long i can put up with them treating me like the daily mails worst nightmare when they've never even seen me fucked up.
