Whenever I hear bullshit I always correct people.

Sometimes, people won't listen, but you'll be surprised how many times one person in a pack will come over, pull me aside, and ask a shitload of questions.

People hate admitting they are wrong when in public.

If it is dangerous I will inform them but if they are just speaking some crap I will let them rant on about it so they don't think I'm a smart ass and think I know everything...

I actually know quite a bit but I don't like to flaunt it because I don't think it's cool and I'll just get into an argument that will settle with the wrong answer or some shit.

whenever my friends go about spewing shit about how "these pills are acid based" or "these pills are heroin based" or even "yeah, these things are triple-stacked!!!!" i generally try to correct them. so far though, it hasnt worked. its basically going in one ear and out the other.

I Remember once a dealer was selling some awful weed, claiming it was 'northen lights' which he also claimed was the only strain with which they dip the buds in acid. There were so many things wrong with this claim I shot it all down, but him and his little crew refused to beleive anything I was saying, I Deleted his number and stopped trying to correct poeple because nobody likes being corrected. =/

Even if it's dagnerous, who cares, less idiots in the world.

My husband and I both correct people when they start spewing misinformation.

I don't really care if they get offended, I hope that they learn something ;)
Same here...though if I'm at a rave and I listen to them talking and I can tell they're too messed up to comprehend any knowledge I could share with them I tend to avoid wasting my precious party time.

I've explained too some of my friends (who are the people who, doesn't care how it works, just as long as it works) that you cant do E on a weekly basis and not see a decreased effect. But they didnt wanna listen.. so bleh.

Most of the time i just let people rant on about shit.. my friend tried to convince me one time that he definitely took heroin based pills cause they were 'smacky' i tried to convince him that would be pointless for them to do that for so many reasons.. but he still believed himself too be true hehe.

Usually it doesn't bother me too much.. its only when there trying to convince me of blatant bullshit, that i feel the need to correct them.

It depends on the individual who's telling the misinformation. But often I will correct the person. Usually though, I speak with so much complicated words that they believe me straight away, saying;"Dude, that guy is some kind of proffesor at it, he must be right", and then they believe me straight away. At times though, the people are just ignorant and foolhardy, in which case I won't bother to try and correct them, or teach them the truth.

I am personally so fucking sick of that myth...I'm running out of willpower to educate/correct people. And I've explained it so many times I'm starting to hear myself use the exact same phrases/explanations in the exact same order when someone else starts gabbing on about "those pills were so fuckin' smacky..." and I feel I've been provoked to correct them.

PS. If eating heroin got you "so fucked up" wouldn't more heroin users do it? /sigh

I used to be but found that people get pretty offended when you try to correct them, so I stopped.

^^^. Not to mention when I correct people they think that I'm telling them my own opinion and don't consider what I tell them as factual information.

Most people don't understand why someone would spend countless hours online learning the facts about drugs. It's frustrating. All it takes is one douche bag who thinks they know everything to misinform their entire group of using friends, who in turn spread the misinformation to everyone they see, just so they look smart and super badass.

Then again, who wouldn't sound badass if they took "4 quadruple stacked mescaline/heroin pills" and "were 'thizzin' so hard i could feel my brain bleed".....and then "once i came down I cracked my back and the lsd I took last summer got released and I was totally fucked...all the E made me gay and then the back cracking released the lsd, so now i had tripped over 7 times and I was stuck being a legally insane gay person......" 8)

I've given up on these types. But when I talk with someone and they seem chill and above some of the urban legends, I'll tell them to visit bluelight or erowid if they want the facts.

QFT. That's exactly what my boyfriend and I do. Tag-team drug discussion! It's always a lot easier to explain stuff like that to people when there is another person to very sincerely back up what you are saying and lend to the discussion.
I'm usually the older person in my group of friends, and I've also done more things than most of them, so I feel very obligated to share what I know. But I do it with all drugs, not just ecstasy.

I correct people, but only if we're not in a crowd - it's not nice to embarrass people in front of others.

Of course online all you guys are. But what about offline? In RL?

For example if you hear one of your buddies talking about these good quadruple stacks they got......or the <insert random pill> has mescaline.....

Would you correct them? What if they were strangers?
(These are RL examples...I'm not shitting you. The past week, I've been hearing the most crazy things.)

Personally, no. I don't like sounding like a smart person or telling someone they're wrong...especially if I can't prove it on the spot.

And pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee don't move this to some random place I totally never go. This is more for the ED people and discussions.

when you said informer I thought you meant police informer, I was like NO IM NOT...but when you mean informer as in know-it-all, I can see myself being one, for some things...

but to be honest, from years and years of trying to let my friends (and non friends) and people closer to me know whats up, the ones that I still hang out with are known to ask me questions about substances..when they used to say that I was talking out my ass and I didn't know anything...especially with the classic debates like ecstasy and acid cut your brain and make your brain bleed, and that flashbacks are when the scab comes off your brain...stupid people thought that was true for so long, until they realized what they where saying years later (its funny how you watch people mature, its like.. dude. it was there in front of yu this entire time)

I stay in line though, I don't talk out my ass and I am QUICK to correct someone if they are wrong and can't beat me up, but sometimes even if it means you get punched you need to correct stupid people. But if someone is having the time of their life telling a peice of false information, props to em, they aint gunna have that convo with me :)

I usually correct people, but if they get all defensive and pissed off then I usually don't bother.

I am like the only person in RL that test my pills and I always tell my friends whats in them. Also I usually don't correct people when they are wrong but I like to throw in little facts here and there about drugs and I am always willing to jump into the conversation and educate people.

i try to inform people. whenever at raves and such i and i hear someone saying buzzwords like "mescaline based" "heroine based" "tripple stacked" usually when i've cuddlin with someone or a gropu i tried to spread the word. i haven't had a negative reaction yet. if there is something to write on i write down the address of this website, pillreports, ecstasydata, or erowid.

with people who have no true information about drugs, and believe the government lies i try to inform them too, but it depends on the social environment i'm in. work: no, school: yes, other friends: yes.

me and my rolling friends here at home are all informed and have test kits. try to fight the ignorance.

leave them to their illusions. if they knew the complete truth, something tells me they wouldn't like MDMA anyway...

Could not have said it better myself. MDMA is not such a cheery and harmless drug when you understand the bigger picture. The flip side of this is that they will never think to question to street "smart" explanations they have heard until someone educated corrects them, so I still do interject correction but dont press the issue.

Just as much as I hate to see E-tards talking about heroin based pills (who would waste heroin on a pillhead haha) I am equally enraged by many of the people on this forum who portray MDMA as a relatively safe drug. Its really not, and street tabs are many times more risky.

Even pharmaceutical amphetamines vary in purity between different brands, if you dont believe me then look up some ADD threads and talk to people who have had the condition for a while. If legally sanctioned pharma companies with unlimited time and budgets for perfect syths fuck it up just imagine how shitty even your precious molly is. You would be better off eating a "heroin pill" hahaha!
