GrOwThSpUrT: surely you can see the difference between products for the production of illicits rather than for the end user. Lets keep a healthy dose of common sense in this.

doubt they even looked at the package, although it's possible that was to just lull me into a false sense of security.

being cautious is good, but i thinking you're going a bit overboard here.. i'm a very paranoid person as well, but even i would say that's a little off

A sure way to keep the paranoia away is to get it sent to someone you know who works in the medical industry. Un-fortunately for myself, where i work, we don't have the chemical reagents that are in these tests although getting one sent there did not and would not raise suspicions. Just make sure if you don't work directly in the receivals area, that you can at least have someone to intercept the package. Basic stuff really.



p.s. Any thing that is a dangerous good inline with the u.n.'s i.a.t.a. , will be sent to you as a dangerous good but the hydrochloric acid certainly would not send off any alarm bells with authorities. If it was iodine flakes, then that would be a whole new chapter.

Yeah. Customs called my kits dangerous goods, and Canada Post refused to ship them... but there were no other issues. They certainly aren't illegal... just not accepted by the carrier.

It is up to the test kit supplier to be up to spec with the dangerous goods I.A.T.A. I don't have a copy to give you the exact ml ammount thats excepted in small quantities. I personally have sent out different corrosive reagents, but these were in 'excepted quanities which did not need a ton of bullshit paper work done for it.

THe supplier should not be sending these test kits without declaring them as a dangerous good. I think you will find that custom's stopped your kit in Canada simply because the suooplier did not declare it and customs found this out. They would be more interested in the supplier. (penalties apply for not declaring a dangerous good)

we're going a bit off-topic here but I will say it again: Since EZ Test does not contain any controlled substances EZ Test can be shipped worldwide without any legal impediments.
If you do not want to have EZ Test delivered to your address please supply us with a valid address from a friend and we will send it there. All EZ Test products are in compliance with international shipping rules of excepted quantities and packaging so hazmat regulations do not apply.

Well, in that case either Canada Post has it wrong, or you do.

Note that the kits were shipped separately, and all three were seized as being unacceptable for Canada Post.

So telling people you are all square with the law and the shipping regulations is nice - but some people still won't get their test kits.

when was this? I have not heard from a customer for a long time that the shipment did not go thru, let alone 3 shipments.
you have to take into account that we changed our packaging drastically over the years. It used to say 'EZ Test for XTC and other drugs!!' on the front, and that did not help with bringing over a certain feeling of trust/confidence with customs. they nailed us for that a million times.;-(
after this has been changed to a more neutral way of packaging , I have not heard of many tests that did not arrive at their destination, except for the ones for which the customer gave us an incomplete address.

Oddly enough, a couple years back I received one without any trouble at all.
