Just had the most trippy thought ever. I was lying on the sofa, and I thought it similarly resembled the activity of a salami in a deli counter - laying there, waiting to be bought.

Those of us who are successful salamis (in life) go on to acheive great things and are saved. Whilst those who remain unemployed don't get "bought" (like a salami) and are thrown in the bin.

Maybe we are all salamis in the Deli bin of life?.....Trippy shit

But surely the salami cannot be held responsible for not being purchased?

In fact, the next time I'm unemployed and filling in a JSA claim form, in the 'reason for unemployment' box I'm gonna put "Circumstances beyond my control. I'm merely a salami on the deli counter of life who has yet to be purchased"...

I'm getting this on a T-Shirt.

I really need to stay away from BL when stoned....

I think for the majority they end up getting 'bought' by an employer and / or partner and unless you're very lucky your job as a piece of salami is going to be pretty humdrum. But even that's a much better option than being thrown into the bin of JSA, if you can find a job that's at least tolerable.

They seem to have deliberately made the JSA experience as horrific and punitive as possible, imposing ridiculous rules and sanctions, even fucking up your money and stopping it for a month for no reason (an adminstrative mix up, for which no one would take responsibilty or offer to help sort it out). Thank God I was only on JSA for about 6 weeks last time i was unemployed and i eventually found someone human enough to care enough to back-pay me the money i was entitled to.

If I was going to have a slogan on a T-shirt, then it would have to be

When I have got my shit together, I am DANGEROUS!

On the other hand, if I wanted a T-shirt for the express purpose of getting a cute guy interested in me, I would have two T-shirts printed with the enantiomers of trinitroamphetamine (there is one carbon atom that joins on to four different things) right at the level where it would be obvious if a guy was taking an interest in it; and I would wear them around places I knew he went, in strict alternation. So one day he would see me as "miss D-something-or-other" and another day he would see me as "miss L-something-or-other", and he wouldn't see enough of the molecule to know exactly what it was, but the substituted benzene ring and the amine side-chain ought to pique his interest a little bit, and he would want to study it further .....

Yes this is so true.

We look at humans for the sake of value - those with worth, and those without... and employers/teachers/people of authority... are always looking for the successful ones.

I think this conceptualisation further stems into issues of good and evil. Where, those who have been evil lack self-worth and carry some sort of negativity - pushing them to be discarded - where those deserving, carry the aura to be noted and become successful salamis in the deli of life....
