Are UK doctors disposed to prescribing Naltrexone outside of a Maintenance program

So I need to start Low Dose Naltrexone for tolerance reduction among other things. Ive found that doctors tend to insist that I go through the "Proper channels". That is I have to join a maintenance program and be prescribed through the service. Has anyone had any luck "convincing" a doctor to take a chance and prescribe Revia without the go ahead from a maintenance clinic

My gp said if I ever need em, then she would sort it out. But as I take codeine for my back, i wouldn't take em. She didnt say if it would be matience programming. But basically she would sort it out in an instant

I have a brilliant GP, so not sure what other GP would do.
