Are small ass water pipes worth it?

Here's my bubbler. I never have issues with it, and I've had it for three years now. Cost me ~$40, so it's not like anyone can't buy a similar piece. Holds a pretty good amount of water, too. Sadly, I don't use it much anymore, as I mostly vape. But on special occasions I'll bring him out, along with some other pieces.

His name is Uncle Sam (red, white and blue *sigh*), which annoys me, but I'm too much of s stony-purist to change the name after he was christened on his first smoke with my friends.

It's the bubbler I broke last year!

It was so good, I miss it.

So yes, they're great, not I haven't had any problems with clogging, and bong cleaner works for me...

OP, why don't you get a good glass bowl/pipe? it's much cleaner than a mini-bong or bubbler, and muuuch more portable.

I have several bowls but if i continue smoking the stuff im taking home for break, i'll probably need to go through anywhere from 3-10 bowls a night to get as high as i would off the vape .. since with the vape you can really go thru weed and not really feel any harshness, my tolerance has gone up.. and this is some regs only like a 3rd of the cost of real bud

I'm finding it hard to comprehend why people consider these things hard to empty and refill. Are you afraid of getting a few drops of water on yourself or something? Because you can always wash your hands, you do realise this?

easy to fill, easy to empty, easy to clean. mini bongs are great.
 
So your parent(s) will let you vaporize in the house but you can't smoke? Or do they want you to do everything outside?

Sounds like you have a pretty good deal either way.

When I used to smoke as much as I enjoyed smoking out of regular standard sized bongs, the first bongs I ever smoked out of were small ones and those work fine.

Heh I remembered getting VERY high while smoking out of the one bong but I put a nug in the bowl and kept hitting it constantly.

I prefer bongs with a carb/shotgun, some people prefer a slide.

If the bong is made well and you're not clumsy you will not spill any water even if it's small.

If I was smoking outside I'd just smoke out of a small glass pipe or a glass one hitter.

there are different types of pipe cleaner to use. don't just use water. it could create mold later, which you would be inhaling. how hard it is to clean depends more on the size and shape. some are a pain the ass to clean, especially if they're shaped in unconventional ways- knots, loops etc. each pipe has a different effect tho as well so there's a lot to experiment with and consider. everyone likes something different

personally i prefer large bongs but they're not as convenient to transport as bubblers, for example... so yea, it depends what you want it for as well

also glass is very important. pyrex is probably the best. some of the cheap flimsy glass obviously isn't as good for hits and breaks easily
 
I love bubblers, but if you've got to smoke discreetly, refilling is annoying. You have to refill and empty every time, otherwise you're sure to spill it as you carry it around to and from where you store it, and what you get on yourself when you do spill it isnt nice clean water, it's _bong water_ - so not only does it smell bad, it smells like drugs. And even after smoking one bowl, the water will stink.

I prefer 1-hits (though i normally get more than 1 hit out of them - some of them have deceptively large bowls) or normal glass bowls when i'm smoking at home. Joints are so wasteful, and seem inappropriate with decent weed (there's no way i'd smoke a whole joint in one sitting, so i've got a partly smoked joint hanging around for days. And not much tastes worse than the smoke from a joint or bowl that's been sitting around for a while partly smoked).

On high quality glass cleaning with ISO alcohol and salt works and then rinsing it with water.

With an acrylic bong I would just dump out the dirty water and rinse it with tap water.
 
i dont have a mini bong but i have had multiple bubblers that i loved. yea it is easier to just load the bowl n smoke but it isnt much diff to get a glass of water, load the bowl n smoke


i dont think joints or blunts would be inconspicous, you will end up wasting weed and smelling like pot. plus i dont know whee your parents live but i do a similar thing when i visit my grandparents every winter in Ohio, and im from Fl and Tx and it is way too fucking cold to be outside long so i opt for the one hitter and Kronic sometimes if i am really being lazy i will go in the bathroom take a hit n hold it in as long as possible n maybe turn the fan on if necessary, always goes away within 15-20mins
 
OK for all of you who are unable to figure out the refilling and emptying part out, here's a fun idea. Get a 2 litre bottle of water. Put it wherever the hell you plan to smoke or somewhere around there, its a bottle of water, nobody cares. Empty and refill on porch whenever you please. Refill 2 litre bottle when empty.
 
I'm not a big fan of small water pipes / bubblers, seems like they're always getting knocked over and spilling nasty bong water. Also they are a hassle to change, yeah its not a huge deal to use a paper clip and empty the bowl, but it seems like someone always trys to cash it out in their hand or whatever, again spilling nasty bong water everywhere.

joints and blunts are awesome, but def not the way to go if you're trying to conserve weed.

I also clean with isopropanol and salt in water, sometimes a little acetone as well. For cleaning my bong I use a lab glass cleaning brush.

If I'm trying to smoke somewhere on the dl I generally use a one hitter, and hold the smoke in as long as possible, letting a little out and taking more air in, repeatedly. I've heard this referred to as zeroing or ghosting a hit.
 
Yeah I'm thinking more in terms of a secretive solo effort here. Not a bunch of idiot friends who might knock a bong over in your parents house when your parents don't even want you smoking a bong there at all in the first place.

fuck, im sure marylin manson has gone through much worse things then having to drink bong water

to who ever made the suggestion of just leaving a water bottle out n using that i have a story for you.......

i used to do this as well when i was younger, i just gotten my 1st bong n it was a one foot acrylic bong that i left out in the garage.

i used to leave a bottle of water in a strategic place but still out in the open and would fill my bong with that water and then put it back into the water bottle for further use. i didnt like tp store my bong with water in it cuz i would lay it on its side to hide.

well when this happened my grandma was living with us at the time and i believe she was the one who found the water bottle and proceeeded to put it into the refridgerator, i was un aware of this of course

i still remember when i was a sophmore in highschool and my dad yelled "Brian!". i came to see what was up and he was holding a bottle of water and said "taste this" i knew it had to be my bottle but i tried to play dumb so i took a sip and said "ew that is smokey"

he said "that is bong water brian" and to that i replied, i would go and complain to the Ozarka company.

he didnt say much after that but he definatly didnt believe me
 
i dont pour bong water back into the bottle, i tip it straight out and use fresh. im happy to refill my 2 litre bottle man water isnt that expensive here. bugger strategy, just leave it out. people can drink it if they want.

that's really funny....

if you were talking to me, i never said to reuse water. i was saying that it's not a big deal if you're cleaning it out to get a little bong water on your hands.

Something like this. Or even something more bland like completely clear chillum (cost like $10-15). that way if caught in the act of smoking you can toss it. AND you can make it look like you're smoking a cigarette from a distance.
But "small ass water pipes" are cool too. cost about the same as a cheap chillum and don't get clogged if you take care of it.
