Are opiates the perfect drugs?

Lately Ive just been burnt out on drugs. Too much of everything. So, Ive taken about 3 weeks off of drug usage, and I am now ready to resume. But in thinking of which drug i want to start off with, i realized something. Opiates might be the perfect drug. Hint: keep the words USED IN MODERATION in mind when reading this.

Think about it. Ecstasy is great. Wonderful high, great times bonding or dancing or whatever you like to do. Then comes the nasty comedown and the infamous "day after."

Coke (can also include other stimulants possibly). Fun as hell. Great rushes, good conversations. Then again, an even nastier come down. The only thing i want to do on a coke comedown is sleep or place a bullet in my head. And since sleep is so hard to achieve...well, better get some xanax or somethin cuz i dont really wanna shoot myself.

Mushrooms/lsd/any other Psychedelic. Trip out, laugh all night, meet god, get lost in the woods, whatever, its all fun on mushrooms. Yeah, all fun until you dont know who you are and you are left contemplating everything you learned for the next week and wondering if your life needs some dramatic change.

Xanax. Nice relaxing, euphoric high. Then the memory loss kicks in along with some horrible physical dependence.

But then theres opiates. Besides the obvious threat of addiction, which can come with many drugs, (but like i said, MODERATION) opiates treat you fairly nice. Think about insuffulated heroin. Easy come up, long, relaxing, euphoric high, then easy comedown, if you even want to call it a comedown.

Its like that with hydrocodone, codeine, and even oxycodone. Easy up, easy down.

So this thread turned out longer than I imagined, but does anyone agree that opiates have to be the perfect drugs? With such great effects and so very little bad side effects in comparison to other drugs, how can you go wrong?

I guess they could be, depends on what opiates and how much are used. I was so excited last week when I got ahold of some liqiud morphine sulfate. The experience was wonderful to start with, but the next morning I ended up puking like hell and couldn't keep down any food at all. Opiates don't usually do anything like this too me, but I forgot the number one rule (lie down!) I was up and about for a good hour of stumbling when I realized what I had done, then the puking started....bleh...I hate puking, and morphine is the only drug to make me puke besides dxm...maybe I should get somebody to strap me down when I'm on these drugs so I don't walk around....All other times I've smoked opium or mixed various opiate based painkillers I never even got a tad nauseous....maybe liquid morphine is just different....

Codeine is crap for me. The liquid just makes me feel sick.

Hydrocodone, on the other hand...

Now THERE'S some fun stuff! I've been described by a doctor as "one of those weird ones" because I get a huge energy burst from about 10mg hydro. It's fucking great, with no comedown or hangover whatsoever. And if I go to bed after it wears off I get the craziest dreams!

So yeah, you may be right about it being perfect.

I've also done oxy (snorted) and opium (smoked). The oxy didn't do much for me but opium is sweeeet!

Ummm...... I have never had a bad day after Ecstasy!!! I was always a happy person the day after.....sometimes up to 2 days afterward =D

There was just a thread on something like this.
I believe that it comes down to the person and the point in life they are at right now.
When I was younger, e and coke where my perfect drugs to go out to the clubs or raves and party all night, or should I say morning. I would not have enjoyed opiates at that phase in my life.
Now it is definitely opiates for me. I like to stay at home with my wife and kid, they go to sleep, I pop some oxy and watch movies, play video games, etc.
I will say that I enjoy opiates more now then the other stuff I have done through my phases.
So yes, opiates are my perfect drug.

Oh yeah, I should add that the only drug that's ever given me a bad hangover was alcohol.

I'm fine the day after MDMA, just tired.

Its cool to see pretty much everyone agrees. I know there is no definite resolution as to if opiates are perfect, but so far i think the majority agrees with me.

It definitley varies from person to person. I guess what i mean by the perfect drug is perfect as in no bad side effects.

PurrrinInOk, im somewhat the same. I used to have awful "day afters" but now sometimes they are ok and sometimes they suck.

And about withdrawl and price, that is a good point, but i was excluding addiction/withdrawl possibilities (those do exist with most drugs) and around my area i can get a good quantity of most popular opiates for the same price that i can get small quantities of mushrooms or coke.

i get no bad aftereffects from doing copious amounts of special k...

...but i can't really judge whetver opiates are better than k...since i have very little expierience with opiates (i loved every expierience i had with them though)

yes they are the perfect drug. But that is what also makes them the most dangerous and life changing.

droop, thats exactly right.

staypuft, ive never tried K so i wouldnt be able to judge that.

No not at all. First of all u get too tired. second of all u dont want to have conversations or do anything except sit there. Third of all your tolerance increases like a motherfucker. Fourth of all the high is too short imo (and u cant Redose like u can with Weed or alcohol)

theres obviously no perfect drug but i think alcohol and weed are the only ones that come close

^ Alcohol is pretty low down the list IMO (but then this is all about opinion). Makes you feel like shit the next day, memory loss, makes people more prone to violence, extremely toxic to the liver and fattening. Tolerance does develop over time too.

Thats the whole point. Opiates remove your worries and make you content to just sit on your arse doing very little. After a day doing a lot of work or after a night out on MDMA, thats exactly what I like to do. 2 or 3 beers is nice, but its not the same.

So you're saying that everything has downsides but if we ignore them for opiates but not for others then opiates are better than everything else? I don't think that's a very fair comparison.

Of course, personally I dislike opiates since I don't like constipation and the experience in itself doesn't feel all that great to me, I feel like I just woke up and I haven't gotten out of bed yet, tired but not sleepy. My personal "perfect" drugs are hallucinogens, I'll take LSD och mushrooms over opiates any day.

Well the downsides of opiates are addiction basically, and i said to ignore the chance of addiction cuz it exists with many drugs(and i should have made it more clear that i meant eliminate addiction and withdrawl with ALL drugs, not just opiates, in my previous post), so eliminating that, what other downsides are there to opiates? thats my point.

StoneColdRules316, thats the whole point of opiates pretty much. To sit, do nothing, and be completely happy about it. The point of ecstasy is to party or bond with people, the point of mushrooms is to have a crazy or life altering experience. All drugs have different purposes, opiates just happen to have a much tamer, calmer purpose than most drugs. And i dont know how you cant have conversations with people while on opiates. I wont shutup, and most of the people i know who do opiates are the same way.

Also, i said in another previous post that there is no definite answer to this question, its just opinion. But considering a lot of the facts, you cant deny the possibility that opiates may be pretty much perfect.

I like opiates, but they're not perfect.

1st there is the addiction potential.

2nd is the whole escapist nature of opiates. I feel more psychadelhic drugs help me to solve some problems in my life, while opiates just make me not care.

Finally they don't feel "weird" enough for me. Don't get me wrong; I feel great on opiates, but even the deepest strangest heroin nap is nothing compared to the mind bending and ego shattering effects of LSD.

thats respectable. to each their own my friend.

lol ive been posting like crazy. its the adderall man. the adderall.

hydrocodone (20mg) makes me unable to focus my eyes, dizzy, give me ear aches, and (the only good thing) makes me feel warm

sometimes they feel good, like if i'm in the hottub with a good friend smoking some weed

otherwise, they are far from the perfect drug for me

perfect body feeling? ecstasy
perfect for enjoyment? ecstasy
perfect clear beautiful mindspace? psychedelics
perfect for life benefits? ecstasy and psychedelics
perfect to learn about oneself? ecstasy and psychedelics

:)
