Are opiates supernatural?

Anyone else believe there's a supernatural element behind them? The addiction seems beyond mortals.

Nah, they just directly and powerfully stimulate dopamine and the endorphin system. Basically distilled reward. When you're addicted, it becomes impossible for the brain to ever feel sufficient levels of pleasure without them, so the animal urge to use at any cost is extremely hard to overcome.

I think morphine Is supernatural from the fact that Is partially a synthetic drug. From that point of View it has supernatural elements to me. For example i have vivid dreams on em or i can write poetry More easily than when I'm Sober.
NO WONDER ITS CALLED GODS OWN MEDICINE.

Just semantics, but morphine isn't partially synthetic at all, it occurs naturally, it's the primary opiate in poppy latex.

True that, for me it's kinda like cannabis in the Sense that the high feels very natural, especially when it's in IV form.

Nah as a former opiate head and on my way to becoming a meth head if I dont quit it now id say that meth has supernatural (by supetnatural i mean insanely psychological) influence over me. Opiates were 90% physical influence over me. And I hate stimulants. But meth gripped me harder than H

Man y do you think so many people relapse after long bouts of sobriety, opiates have a strong mental grip on users. I stayed 9 months clean after my first rehab AND Trust me, when i got out you dont Know how i was thinking "OMG that shot I'm gonna take Is gonna be a blast". Indeed, it was but months later i was hooked again AND the cycle repeats. Opiate addiction Is not just physical, the mental aspect gets ahold of you AND it wont Let u go that Easy. At least that's from my experiences throught the years.

I think supernatural is a hyperbolic way of saying they alter our consciousness to such a high degree that it's hard to comprehend. The human brain is just electrified jelly and reality is a lot more fluid than we would like to believe.

Youre absolutely right. Thats why I said for ME PERSONALLY meth has gripped me harder. I am very strong willed towards ops once they stop physically maiming me

Yeah man. I understand u, while ur an upper guy I'm More of a downer guy but the grip these drugs have on oír brains Is practically the same.
