My opiate experience is 2 5mg lortabs (I injured my ankle so badly I couldn't walk) and I have no benzo experience. I have MUCH experience with psychadelics and some with stimulants.

I'm knowledgeable about the general effects of these two types of drugs. Therefore, hearing about how nice they can be, I'm curious. On the other end of the spectrum, I have family members as well as friends with problems with these. I've tried a lot of different substances but have never gotten around to these. Is it worth it? I don't want to become an addict.

You have to work at it

Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought her back. And then she turned into a pill junkie. I never liked opiates, sweaty, nauseous, yuck. Then I started taking hydrocodone from an old lady(she was selling them to me). You get used to the high quickly. It was only downhill from there. Opiates are one of the drugs most ppl who get seriously addicted don't ever really "come back" from. The physical WD (cause you WILL run out) is awful, but NOTHING compared to the 6 mos-1 yr of PAWS (post acute withdrawal syndrome) your brain is really fucked up. Nothing else I have ever dabbled in or became addicted to destroyed my life like opiates. Maybe you aren't the "addict" personality. Maybe you are. If I could take it all back I would. But at the time, no one on earth could have stopped my curiosity. Good luck.

Please have a look at the OD Posting Standards thread and Guidelines in my signature. This type of thread is far too basic for the Other Drugs forum. There are SO MANY threads that you can easily locate here in Other Drugs as well as in Basic Drug Discussion and Trip Reports that discuss the basic effects (positive and negative) as well as people's experiences of opioids and benzodiazepines.

Our directory is a good place to start and after that try the search tab all the way at the top next to "quick links". Click on "advanced search" and play around with the search options (such as title only, etc.)

If you have any difficulty finding what you're looking for, feel free to private message me or other staff and we'll help you out. Also, please make sure you read over the posting standards thread before starting another thread in here.
