looking at the various sites where they publish test results I noticed that there is an enormous difference in quality when you look at european pills and the ones that pop up in the US. Can it be that unscrupulous people in the US get their gear in Mexico or s'thing, anything that they can get their hands on and press them up into those weird mixtures? Most of those mixes look awful, I feel sorry for the people who take them..

i've always thought, if it's pressed into a pill then someone took the time to press that pill, and i for one, wouldn't sit around pressing nice pills with fancy logos with junk and crap to sell to a bunch of drug dealers and users... if i wanted to make a quick buck i'd probably crush up some sort of prescription drug and throw it into a capsule, or ground some street crack and make the infamous "molly" that everyone seems to think are soooooooooo pure... ;/
friends of mine have seen puerto rican's selling died blue/purple/red/orange aspirin! anyone can tell junk pills with filler that looks like sand or wax, and i can tell what's a vitamin and what's a bitter-sweet, sassafras play-do smelling bomb...
it has always been my assumption that 80% of the pills in the united states are imported from europe...

I would like to disagree with this statement. Honestly, a meth lab, with a decent amount of knowledge and research, could be set up anywhere. I could even run push-pulls through a gas can or some other similar medium. Heck, if I was bored and creative enough, I could probably run a rxn through a Snapple bottle if I wanted to just get some meth for right now. But even still, a "real" meth lab would probably have quite a time trying to make MD**. Depending on what reaction you're using, you're going to need some REAL glassware, plus quite a bit more technical savvy. It's one thing to mix Ephedrine with Red Phosphorus and mix it around, but it's another to do run a Wacker on some isosaffrole, that you had already converted over from saffrole or vanillin or something else.
It's not as easy as it sounds. Pretty much anyone, if given instructions could make meth. Not NEARLY as many people could make MD**.

Absolutely - any intelligent individual with a Hive account can make meth, not so with MDMA.
Easy, I think you are correct that the US market is becoming more domestic, at least on the pressing end of things. Some people even seem to be getting whatever they can, crushing it up together, and repressing it. There have been many pills lately with wierd combos, combined with terrible pressings, and I've figured out that Acetaminophen in pills comes from someone crushing OTC headache pills and using them for filler/binder in their own tablets. I puzzled over that one for a while before I found a post somewhere asking if there was a way to seperate APAP from a mixture.
As to where the actual MDMA is coming from intitially, though, who knows? Is there a possibility more is being smuggled as powder, to be finished here in the US?

I believe a large part of our problem is that the "good" stuff is getting snagged by customs, while the bunk makes it through. They probably don't have DXM sniffing doggies.
