Are AMT(IT-290) or 5-MeO-AMT MAOI's

I have heard that AMT has some MAOI properties but I have also heard of people who are on prozac taking it without side effects. Is it really am MAOI? What about 5-Meo-AMT?

has anyone been able to get 5-meo-amt lately? I mean, the doses are so extremely small that i am wondering why it is not knocking these expensive fuckers like 2-ct-7 and foxy off the market. It seems a lot more cost efficient with the doses of 4 mg orally. just a thought.
 
If Amt is an MAOI, wouldn't it be very dangerous to use in conjunction w/ecstasy?
I've been doing a bit of research on AMT and I've read posts that indicate usage of AMT and ecstasy as a fun combo. I have not read any posts regarding side effectes of combing these two. Any input?
 
people who combine AMT with MDMA usually wait till the AMT starts wearing off before taking the MDMA...
 
i've read a few trip reports where the user took a pill while on the amt and said it felt like a the equivalent of 4-5 pills. if your safe you should be able to get away with it just stay small.

It's dangerous because MAOI's interact with drugs and foods that have tyromine in them. (tyromine is an amino acid, fyi) Combining them puts you at risk for a severe hypertensive episode; a lot of people have died from the combination. Once in a while you'll see in the news how an ER or ICU doctor is being sued for malpractice because they prescribe a dose of demeral, for example, to a patient which is on an MAOI antidepressant and they didn't realize it. An untreated hypertensive crisis can lead to heart attacks, convulsions, coma, strokes, and renal failure, to name a few.
So be careful

As a side note; while dangerous to combine, I would say that when I dropped only an hour after my 5-MeO-DMT trip, it was probably the biggest factor in why only a couple pills had me in a state of total oblivian... like blowing up so fucking hard I kinda hallucinated into another world, talked with someone that was not there... neurotoxic? Yes, but what a fun way to kill brain cells!
Any idea about *HOW*MUCH* damage could be caused by that? A SHORT ACTING MAOI and MDMA?

I really don't know if the combination of a short acting or low dose MAOI and MDMA would be *more* neurotoxic than taking the two separately. I was under the impression that (1) MDMA is believed by many to be neurotoxic, and (2) combining it with an MAOI puts you at risk for hypertensive crisis.
MAOI's block the metabolism of norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine in the brain. Tyramine is normally (for someone not on an MAOI) deactivated in the g.i. tract and liver so large amounts of it don't get circulated, but since this deactivation is blocked by MAOI's, the tyramine gets absorbed and causes a sudden HUUUUGE release of norepinephrine (which I'm guessing is why you got sooooo fucked up. well, that along with the whole basic serotonin blow up thing going on from the roll ). Hypertensive crisis *may* result, but if you luck out and it DOESN'T, I don't necesarily think that you would end up more brain-mashed from the experience.
I always thought that it was the possibility of the whole hypertensive crisis/ hyperthermia/ heart attack/ intercranial bleeding that was the main concern...
