April Jones: Mark Bridger's home to go up for rent

Knowing that a girl was most likely hacked to bits in the house would really mess with your head, as well as others horrible things. Fair enough if you could live there knowing that.... but would not be for me!

Excellent use of space with the washing machine & dryer combo in the hallway. I also really like the feature wooden beams in the lounge.

The modern twist of the living room goes hand in hand with the properties history. An excellent first home for first time buyers or new families alike.

Yeah I wouldn't wanna.

Although having said that I live in a basement flat in a converted Victorian hospital, I reckon some grim stuff musta gone on in here in the past but it doesn't really freak me out thinking about it. Completely different to something that was just recently headline news though I know.

We found out after my girlfriend moved out of her flat that a woman hung herself in the flat and died, with her young child in the flat who saw it all! My girlfriend moved in only after a few days of the woman dying.

Nice.

They tend not to put this information on the estate agent's website.

You can't have a permanent memorial to the victim at every murder scene, place would look ridiculous.

Exactly, its still sickening though.

This is how an estate agent described a farmhouse where a guy was tortured and killed in probably the most gruesome way you could imagine.

A detached farmhouse requiring modernisation with an excellent range of outbuildings providing tremendous potential standing within grounds of just over an acre situated in a convenient location with delightful views over adjoining countryside.

There was quite a lot of interest - not because of the history but because it is a property with outbuildings.
The bottom line is it is a good development opportunity and it sold for around the guide price of £250,000.'

He was tortured and killed in front of his family 24 rib fractures, hung upside down almost to death, burnt, whipped, electrocuted then sexually assaulted with an iron bar which killed him and sexually assaulted his wife infront of him.. Some cruel bastards in the underworld..

I'd rather live in a house where someone was murdered, than in a house that was repossessed because someone defaulted on their mortgage payments.

Montoya Mansions is a Victorian 2-up 2-down, so it's bound to have a bit of dark history somewhere.

If some outsider who wasnt aware of the houses history rented it, they would be informed about it in no uncertain terms within days, probably by a brick through the window, or worse.

My sister bought a house, and the cuntish next door neighbours told her that the previous owner/tennant comitted suicide in the house. What utter cunts for telling her that. What good did they think that would do. Fuckin spitefull inconsiderate cunts. Luckily my sister is very well adjusted and positive and doesnt seem to have any problem with it, but it must have cut her up inside when she was first told that.

When i first moved into my current house I had a strange feeling about it. The place is at least a hundred years old and must have had dozens of owners and or tennants over the years, chances are something nasty happened here. If there were any ghosts or supernatural phenomenon here for those who believe in the possibilty of such things i reckon the ghost was more scared of me than i was of it.

A 100 % sane respectable high status friend of my parents has been in a house with poltergeist. He is an artist though so may be more sensitive and succeptible to such phenomemon i dont know. It scared the shit out of him though thats for sure.

Yes i agree SHM to have the estate agents pictures included in the article is a terrible lack of editorial judgement and taste.

EDIT: Just had a look at the pictures and they certainly arent estate agent typed staged pictures, the way they were embedded in the article made it look like they would be. There's all Bridger's clothes strewn about the place and police evidence arrows in the bathroom picture. Truly quite distrurbing stuff. I have personal links to the wider surrounding county which makes it even more shocking to me.

To be fair mate, she should have been told that before buying the house. I don't think the next door neighbours are automatically cunts for informing her what had happened in her house. It may even be a legal requirement (not for the neighbours but for the actual cunt who sold the house). Disclosure, it may or may not be called. I may or may not be taking my knowledge of the property game from an episode of Breaking Bad...

Its not that the new tennanats have a cheek for moving in (if they are oblivious to what went on, in which case the estate agent should rot in hell). It's that April Jones's family want the place demolished, local support will be totally behind them, (thousands of local people volunteered for a co-ordinated search of the surrounding countryside, one of my old friends was amongst them) there will be an extreme element amongst that group that will think they are doing the right thing by making the lives of whoever is unfortunate enough to move into that cottage absolute hell.

Of course not every house where a murder is commited can be knocked down and replaced by a memorial. Although everyone is supposed to be equal, this is clearly not the case. The murder of young people/young girls in particular allways evokes the strongest feelings, and this was a huge story for the local, national, maybe international media. If it had been some evil criminal psycopath who had been murdered then things would be totally different. In the eyes of the law Murder is Murder no matter who was killed, but its quite different in the eyes of the public how they react to different murders.

Btw Im not condoning bricking Bridger's ex home, i feel sorry for whoever is gonna be unfortunate/dumb/maybe just plain ghoulishly sick enough to live there. Their lives are gonna be made hell.
