Opioids Applying Fentanyl or Buprenorphine patch on sun-burned skin?

Will it still work? I got a sun-burn all over body - my skin is just red and I wonder whether my Butran patch will work if I place it on sun-burned skin. The skin is not flaky and slowly becoming brown (I tan well). I made sure to shave the area carefully to increase the rate of absorption and get rid of as much burned/bad skin layer as possible.
