Apartments and Weed

Ok, so this sort of deals with anxiety and smoking, but it's its own topic, sort of, so hear me out.

My boyfriend loves to smoke weed. I enjoy it every now and then, and only on special occasions because I have random drug tests at work each month. Now, when we do smoke, I get nervous smoking in our apartment because I'm afraid the neighbors will smell it and call the police or something. He thinks I'm just being too paranoid.

My question is...a ton of you guys smoke weed and seem to have no problem doing it in your own apartments. Do any of you have neighbors who have called the police from smelling it, or have taken other action, or do most neighbors, as my boyfriend suggests, not give a shit?

my neighbors don't seem to give a shit. i live in a little court with people all around on both sides, and i blow it out the window so it must drift in and out of people's yards / houses etc.

they're all pretty elderly and don't seem to care or notice, but they don't like me much either
 
Whever I smoke in an Apt, its usually of a fire escape or its a top floor or roof. Noone will care I don't think, considering the stuff people do in Apts.(cook, work out...cook mostly) usually sovers it up mostly. Weed might be an intense smell whehn ur stoned, but outside of that its usually a pretty faint smell. Either close up as tight as possible, or if you can go outside to a smoking type place, balcony, roof. Noone notices, but this is the stuff friends of mine and my bro do in relatively posh apts to MAKE SURE there's no smell at all. U'd be surpised the amount of ppl in a apt building do smoke pot really.
 
most of my friends apartments have balconys to stand out on, so we mostly just smoke out there or the table next to the balcony. other times we smoke inside we just light some incense, its not really a big deal i guess because they don't live near uptight rich people.
 
I really doubt its much to be worried about. I dont think anyone smells it when i smoke in my apt, except for my roomates taht is :P
 
Yeah I don't think you have to much to worry about unless you know the neighbors are strict or something like that. I've smoked in a few apartments and never had a problem.
 
i smoked in appartments all the time with no insence or windows open and have never had a problem. I would be weary about smoking in dorm rooms though ...cost me 720$ when i did it...fucking rats :(
 
yea, if you can, light up some incense or somethin.... other than that, theres not really much to worry about, i mean, ive smoked in TONS of appartments and nobod notices it, and if they do, they either dont care or somethin... as long as youre not blowing it at your front door, which would make the hall smell like pot, youve got nothin to worry about.... a little bit of paranoia is alright though, i mean, you never know... just be kinda careful i suppose...

You lucky bastard! I get thrown out of residence if I am basically even suspected to have weed in my posession, let alone having smoked it. I miss sitting down on a nice couch and lighting up, now I have to go off into the woods all the damn time.
 
Australians have more laid back attuidue towards pot, even its illegal here....I always smoke and I don't give a shit about the neighours, just few instense sticks does the job for me. I know about nearly 5 tokers in my street, and I could smell weed, and I just don't give a shit, I just mind my own business. My neighours are nice, it always pays to be nice to your neighours even they are pain in the arse, it will save you a lot of hassles. ;)

heh - i have a child so i won't smoke in my apt. instead, i smoke in the stairwell - where i KNOW others can smell it wafting into their apts. Of course, sometimes i smell the smoke from other apt dwellers drifting into mine. This is NYC - so i don't think people really give a shit... but sometimes i expect someone to slip a note under my door complaining... especially since i smoke most nights!
 
I never worry about it. In Ohio (usa) the police can not raid your house under suspect of smelling weed. They won't raid your house unless it's worth the time to put a team together. I wouldnt worry so much if I were you.

You can take a empty paper towel roll and pack it with fabric softener sheets and blow your hits into that to cover up the smell.
 
ive had 3 apartments and could cheif in all of them without worrying about it. I just keep the doors and windows closed and hotbox the place ;) no way for them to smell it if the smoke stays inside! Also, depending how your complex is set up, you could still possibly smoke pot on your back porch if noone is around, i did it all the time no problem.

or you can get ghetto and get a paper towell roll packed with dryer sheets and blow your smoke into there and it comes out all fruity and smelly :D
 
i wouldnt worry unless you live on a hall in which case it's just stupid. otherwise, you should be fine, but try smoking outside if it's not too cold.

yea, it's called a spoof! and it works wonders!

otherwise, just towel the doors and get a window fan that has an exhaust option. if you get a duel window fan, you can set one to intake and one to exhaust and put fabric softner on both sides, that usuallyworks pretty well.

OH, another FOOLPROOF plan!!!! if it comes down to it, and you need to get rid of a smell, ANY smell....simply microwave a bag of popcorn! works even better than the spoof, rip that baby open and put it by the door or something, or eat it, i'm sure it would work just as good! i'm serious about this by the way. ;)

I've never had any problems. But only you know what type of fuck-head neighbours they are. If you don't know them, chances are they don't know you, or what youre up to.
 
^^i use popcorn too! it works wonders! plus its good for the munchies too ;)
 
I had a friend a few months back who got raided because of his neighbors. I mean, he was blatant but not OVERLY so untill he got the classic "Noise Complaint." Once you get a Noise Complaint over here it means you're fucked. I guess smoking like a QP in 40-60 minutes is crazy, we had friend come over and say "Damn dude, I smelled that out in the parking lot, and i'm NOT joking." But we thought that was funny, at the time. His neighbors called the office, said we had people coming in and out at ALL hours (meth lab flag here,) that we were very rude to them, and even harrased them on one instance when their damn pup bit my friend.

But, as long as you aren't smoking a QP in a hour I think you're fine. I always buy the "Opium" incense sticks cause the store owners always tell me it's really "Hemp smelling." I don't know, I can't smell pot when i'm smoking it, but when i'm not I can REALLY smell it.

Yeah I'm australia and over here the cops turn a semi-blind eye if you were say, smoking it in your own home. In a park or public place is different, but the way the cops view it is that if you are smoking it in your own home then you arent really doing any public harm..

You'd have to have pretty fucked up neighbours to report you, unless it affects them directly (ie you have an air vent that goes into their house or something) being paranoid about it will just ruin your smoking experience.

But I try and refrain from taking the bong with me in my car on long trips although sometimes you have to, that can land you in some deep shit because they can then search your car, etc..
