Anything to do with pipe resin?

Just can't bring myself to smoke this shit. Is there any way to extract the thc from the soot and tar or something ? Perhaps even gel-cap it and then consume ? If I don't figure out something soon it will just go in the trash. Looking for any suggestions...

Disclaimer : YES, I realize resin is freaking nasty - still - i'd still like to find a way to purify and consume... for science!
 
I'm sure there is a way to extract the thc but it would be a long process and fo sho not worth it. Good call on not smoking it though...I only do that when I'm suuuper desperate lol..
 
There's nothing to do really with Resin except put it in the trash. There's no way you could purify a significant ammount of smokable material from pipe resin
 
The thing is based on previous experience smoking resin I know there is enough thc in there to get me -completely- fucked up. It's also a sizable chunk of resin, about the size of a walnut. I'm not sure why people say resin has such low thc levels because when I have smoked it in the past it has always been VERY potent but just tasted and smelled disgusting. I was thinking I might be able to mix it with a small amount of butter ? Black cannabutter ? Ugh :X :! What do you think would happen if you simply gelcapped it and consumed ? You'd basically be consuming thc oil + soot and ash. Not exactly tasty, but I don't think it would really hurt you either ? Maybe give you a tummy ache ?
 
Seeing as THC is not soluble in water, maybe try soaking resin in water, and then filtering out remaining solids with a very fine filter.
 
You could try vaporizing it, but just man up and smoke it, its not that bad, gets you higher than smoking stems would.

I think you could extract whatevers left with an iso wash but I think the nasty taste may still remain.
 
My lungs straight up can't handle it. It's also the size of a Walnut, besides lung failure about halfway through I think my entire block would reek like stank ass resin. I need to find another method. I thinking I may just gel-cap and eat it. Eating some carbon shouldn't be too bad for you ? Will report back.
 
It's funny to see people talking about how potent resin is when smoked. I understand the chemistry behind it, but in practice, whenever I smoke the shit, I feel moderately high for 15 to 20 minutes and then experience an awful headache. In fact, I clean my pipe out quite frequently for this reason - just to avoid hitting any resin when I'm trying to smoke fresh cannabis. Maybe it's just my body chemistry...
 
^If you are a non-smoker, as I was for a period, resin gets you as blasted as really week, leafy pot. Which- with no tolerance- is blizzlasted. :)
 
Me and two friends smoked a bowl of resin off of a bowl that was not bad tasting, and got us really high. The pipe we used had only ever had very high quality weed burned in it, if it makes a difference.
 
I agree with manning-up and just smoking it. I only do it when I'm extremely desperate, plus I tend to keep my pieces super clean so it's a rarity that I have all too much of it hanging around. It will get you high if you're fiending, wouldn't recommend calling over a friend though --- its more of a "smoking alone to get the edge off" type of thing.
 
it's all relative to the size of the rez-bowl. resin can and will get you and all your friends high as a kite if you have enough.

yeah, it tastes like steam trains, but i always found that kind of endearing.

scrape it all and roll it into a ball. it doesnt matter if its bad for your lungs, smoking in general is bad for your lungs for those who dont kno that. lol it will get you blasted!
