Anything to do with male leaves?

It sure will. And yeah. Yields are minimal. In fact, here's an old thread regarding the same thing:
http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?p=2513968#post2513968

Males are good for compost. Only the males which actually grow trichs are worth, well, cooking with. Save your butane for actual trim.

ok 2-3%

so you would get anywhere from .56-1.68g of BHO from an ounce of clippings...

Which realistically you could get high a few times off that... a matchhead size bit of it will be enough to get you pretty fucking baked....

You could do much better for your can of butane but if your dead set on getting something useful out of the clippings, this is what i would do...

dnt give this guy any more advise. hes made a few threads of what to do with a male plant and 20 times people said just kill it. obviously hes just going to let it pollenate his females cause he wont do anything we say.

I killed the male already, I picked all the leaves off though and tossed everything else. Anyways I dried and smoking like two leaves which filled a bowl each, got a mild high, so smoking the leaves isn't bad if you can stand smoking alot of em.

Yeah what I do is take all of the trim from the female and male plants then mix them using a spice or coffee grinder until you get a lovely super fine green powder, this powder contains a great deal of CBDs, THC, etc... plus antioxidants, terpenes, etc... What you do need to do is make sure you use a good flour sifter to remove any none fine substance from the powder.

So basically this powder can be used to make Budder, and added to oil to make oil extraction concentrates. I.e fill jar with oil about 25% full using warm raw olive oil or other type of warm edible oils, the higher the fat content the better but oils with a melting point like coconut oil will be a solid at room temperature and a hard solid from the fridge, and rock hard out of a freezer. Then you slowly mix in the super fine green powder until the oil is saturated then add more oil until the jar is about 50-75% then saturate the oil with powder again, repeat this till the oil is all the way to about 95% then before you close the jar fill the remainder of the jar with oil until it's just about to brim over. The reason you want to do this is to minimize air so you can minimize humidity and potential chance for mold. Then let the mixer sit in the jar for about 2-4 weeks, shaking vigorously daily.

After that 2-4 weeks you will have a very potent oil, you can then strain the leftover powder from the oil using ultra-fine cheesecloth, you can strain twice if you'd like to make sure all of the powder is gone.

Now... you can turn around and add more fresh material from properly dried cannabis trim powder using the oil concentrate by adding 25% of the oil into another jar, saturate the oil with powder, fill jar to 50%, saturate, fill to 80% saturate with powder, then fill to about 90% and saturate once more and your volume should be about 95% full, pour the remaining oil into the jar until the jar is full to the brim store this concentrate shaking daily for 2-4 weeks and you have some seriously potent medicine. You should use any leftover oil to make a batch of edibles or start another jar of oil concentrate.

You can repeat the whole process as much as you want, eventually the oil will be so saturated it will take on a resinous texture and start to harden slightly.

Once you achieve your desired concentration make some killer brownies :) or make some pizza crust with an extra special ingredient. You can use the Budder to sautee the toppings in to provide even greater effect. Were just talking a few seconds, too long and you'll destroy some of the THC due to high temp of the oil.

The more concentrated the oil becomes the less and less you actually need to get high.

Make sure you include all of the pollen sacs, bananas, hairs etc.. from the male plant as they all contain THC, some male plants contain quite a bit of THC.

Here is the most important thing, if you plan to smoke the oil make sure you choose an oil that is safe to be smoked or vaporized, you don't want an oil that ignites at the temperature you plan on using to vaporize with or your oil can ignite.

You can also vaporize the trim powder and you will get pretty high, some people get a headache from this though. 260celcius is a great temperature to vaporize the powder. Make sure you dry the powder enough that it doesn't taste green as that can be quite nasty. If your going to smoke or vaporize it should at least taste good.

Kill it & dump it unless you want your females to be full of seeds. There's no THC or anything in a preflowering male & if you let it get mature then it'll ruin your crop.

You can do stuff (like make amazing ice/bubble hash) with leaves trimmed from around the buds on a mature female plant, but males are bad.

It seems a very common idea that males and leaves in general aren't worth smoking. Sure the big fan leaves don't have lots of THC but the smaller ones round the growing tips definetly do. I have been just as high smoking a big joint of smallish to medium leaves than smoking bud.

Immature plants that have just started flowering don't have any THC, whether they're male or female. You don't want a male to get mature & spit pollen all over your females or it will ruin your crop.

Also, take cuttings before they start flowering properly, label the cuttings so you know which plants they came from. Kill any male cuttings, keep the female cuttings for next time.

This is actually not true, male plants (leaves, stems, hairs) contain more THC pre-flower than post-flower. While it's tough to smoke you can refine it and concentrate it using methods detailed above. The reason the THC levels goes down after flower is due to the plant putting priority into making flowers and pollen. Now the pollen and flowers can also contain quite a bit too if you concentrate it.

---Random facts about cannabis---

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phytoestrogens
Female plants contain phytoestrogens (This is why weed makes women horny, and also why it's good for female reproductive problems.)

Male plants contain phytotestosterones. (Unless they are hermies, then they contain both.)

Men specifically can benefit from regular consumption of phytotestosterones as it can have a mild/medium steroid effect on human muscle production without the bitch tits associated with steroids. Yes phytotestosterones can be concentrated but not many people grow strictly male plants for the purpose of improving male fertility, most people just want to get high.

Actually Greenthumb there is something even better you can use males for, fertilizing a few buds so you have seeds for the following year. Generally people choose the two healthiest plants with the best genetics... bud size, growth rate, harvest yield.

Feminized seeds have gotten out of control, it's to the point that people are paying over 300$ for one seed! are you guys out of your minds? and if you don't want hermie ridden plants it's best to make your own strain.

Think about it, controlled fertilization allows you to improve upon your own plant adding new genetics adds new traits, and new flavors.

The only seeds you have to worry about is a strain that has higher potential for hermie, but there is a way of forcing the plant to go all male using colloidal silver sprayed on the bottom of the leaves, so it forces the plant to go "all one sex", you spray twice daily on the bottom sides of fan leaves, and also around node points. Once you decide to switch the plant over you need to keep spraying for about 2 weeks after sex shows to guarantee an all male plant. Now you have 100% pure male not a hermie, now you can grow this plant to pollinate females in a "Controlled" way.

(NOTE: You can make colloidal silver by using two pure silver wires attached to a 9v battery with alligator clips. Essentially you leave the wires in distilled water for approx 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the silver concentration you want. If you tried 30 minutes before and you weren't able to change the sex of the plant simply use 1 hr with the 9v battery (make sure it's fresh) What will happen is the silver particles become suspended, The amount of spray you need is very little approx 1 cup per plant for the entire time from the time the plant is 3 inches tall you can start spraying, once in the morning and evening every other day.)

Take some of the pollen and place in a zip lock baggy, close one end so the pollen doesn't fall out of the baggy. Put the closed end on the bottom and place the baggy over the desired bud(s) then zip it closed, and apply blue painters tape as you can easily remove it without tearing the baggy. If you tear the baggy open you will end up with a LOT of seeds LOL, but at least you'll be able to plant a maximum number of plants.

You will leave the baggy on for 3 days, shaking the baggy daily while still being gentle enough you don't damage the female. Now carefully remove the tape, and open the top end of the baggy, slowly remove the bud from the baggy without spilling any pollen on buds you do not wish to pollinate.

Once you grow this plant out you will want to take 1 more female from the group and change her sex to male like before, once the female has turned male, grow out this plant till it produces pollen, then take that pollen and pollinate another female plant, you will then get 80-90% female, rather than 20-50% male.

Plus any time you need seeds you simply have to spray a female change her sex, and then use her pollen to pollinate a good genetic mate and you will end up with all females without cloning... So just remember, you can make "pure" males any time you need them.

Remember any males made by using colloidal silver cannot be smoked or eaten due to the high levels of silver inherent in the plant, now the silver is present in small amounts in the seeds it does not transfer to the plant once it starts growing. It's very minute.
You can turn grey if you consume to much silver, this skin condition is permanent due to silver particles being trapped in the epidermis and react with light to darken and tint the skin. Making you look like this guy.
