Benzos Anyone who went through long term benzo withdrawal who got better?

Benzo Help

From a 6mg xanax a day person... and a benzo based sleep med.... so around 10mg a day.. I needed help detoxing.

I was lucky enough to be based in Richmond VA and could go to the Coleman Institute and could go through rapid detox over 1 week. I had an IV pouch for that week that administered slowly pushing limited acting dosage of an anti benzo... it worked very well... and I had been on xanax for over 15 years.

If you need help, and have the cash and want to get off this damn stuff.... look him up. It worked for me.

If you want to talk about it, send me an email.... [email protected]

Yea was this flumazenil?

I've heard mixed reports about it, mainly that it only offers temporary benefits.

I'd even be willing to give it a shot but I just don't have the money right now.

Edit: Thanks everyone for the responses. Don't have time to respond to all of them, but I appreciate them.

i did benzosz for a year and a half, the first 2 months were somewhat easy then like u said it started getting bad..its been 11 months now and those feelings r finally going away, slowly but getting better.

I had prescription Diazepam and Nitrazepam and finally Clonazepam for over 5 years. When I landed in the pen I got de-toxed and it was pure hell I can tell you. My balance was at least messed up, I shook like I had parkinsons etc etc. All the classic bensodiazepine withdrawal symtoms. However, when I got out I hit the Clonazepam again (prescription) but when the doctor said she wanted to put me on Ritalin daily I actually stopped taking Clonazepam by myself. It was tough, but it worked once I decided to quit with it. I promise you it isn't easy but it do gets much better after a while.

Congratulations on getting off of benzos! That is some amazing stuff! I don't have any personal experience with withdrawal from benzos but I've witnessed it in others. I have however gone through methadone withdrawals and I know how not being able to sleep each night wears you down physically and mentally. I thought I was going to go crazy! One OTC med that helped me get more sleep during that time was doxylamine. I know another poster mentioned it already but I wanted to let you know that it helped me too.
You can find it in generic OTC sleep meds along with some types of Unisom. Just read the back of the box to make sure you're not buying diphenhydramine instead. Good luck!

um benzos are prolly the one thing i go fuckin nuts on ,i was once taking in upwards to 18-20mg of xanax a day dosed once a day for close to 2 weeks i would do this till i ran out, repeat every month i started well i would usually take it for 3 weeks starting at like 6mg to get high then the dose had to be up'd every day till i was at 9-10bars at each dose

ugh i would lose control with alcohol this way as well

When i worked at detox, docs used to say "you need 1 month comin off, per year you've used benzo", talking about prescription levels of 2-4mg alpra/day or 5-20mg diazepam/day. So if you've managed 6 months, youre bound to get better soon! If not, start looking into other areas of your life that could be the cause... for users with a few years experience, you cant say from day to day where your feelings are coming from. "might be some sort of withdrawl, might just be how i feel today". You know what i mean. It might just be life...

ive been there and have just begun my way out of it..

Go to the gym, force your body to give you endorphines naturally!

I'm 10.5 months out from a 4 year xanax with celexa prescription and I still have agoraphobia , high anxiety and panic attacks. But then there are days wherew I'm totally fine, I got hit hard this month whereas I had better days a few months ago.

Did a slow taper and when I was at .75mg xanax I went to 0 in about 4 months but I was getting withdrawal at the .25Mg dose so we updosed to .75mg and I was fine for a week then it came back I said I wanna. Get off

Only had one isolated panic attack before taking meds now I feel like a different person. So nervous for no reason, havenr been able to go far out of the house for over a year.
