OK well Im almost positive I have TMJ ...though I have gone to a good dentist and an ENT (ear nose throat specialist) and they cant tell me whats wrong...It happened on June 23rd after a 3 day run on Molly all the sudden I got a ringing in my ear and It has never gone away...I didnt roll for a month after that, the next time I did roll I got crazy pressures and stuff in my ear ... basically I've been dealing with this forever.. I stopped rolling on September 17th after I had a fucking terrible experience. Has anyone had these symptoms or has anyone ever had TMJ and can tell me that its not what i have??? because the symptoms online don't all match up and I have some that aren't there, but the doctor couldn't tell me anything :/

Part 2 is that I got drunk the other night and did a few dabs with my best friend. my tolerance is back to 0 for sure.. it was amazing, but the next day I still have crazy clicky grindy jaw and even worse is the pressure. BUT it made me really want to roll on new years and im wondering if its dangerous.. or if i could just do a little bit of molly and deal with it :/

:) thanks to anyone that actually reads this lol

TMJ is not what you have. TMJ is a condition where the joints of your jaw are out of line. I had it and got it corrected when through orthadontia. rining in the ears is common on alot of drugs TMJ causes popping and grinding in the joints of your jaw.

If you only have ringing in your ears when you roll...chalk it up to over stimulation from either loud music or just the effects of the drug itself.

But...none of us here are doctors and if it is effecting you so much...you should probably talk to one of them.

I Have TMJ with a clicking jaw and ringing in my ears a lot. Also get bouts of vertigo sometimes. I doubt E would cause it though. If I would binge on mephedrone to much I would get crazy ringing in my ears that would last till the next day.

my jaw has been broken 3 times and i used to clench during the day and grind my teeth at night. i had a lot of facial pain, pain and pressure/fullness in my ears, and damage to my molars.
anytime i've done E i clenched my teeth a lot which caused some increase in symptoms.
do you still have your wisdom teeth? sometimes they can cause pressure and pain in your ears and getting them out can help.
find a dentist who specializes in tmj problems so you can get a definitive diagnosis. check out www.tmj.org
there should be a list of docs there as well as a lot of good info about tmj.
best of luck to you.

You may be predisposed to developing TMD (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder) even before you began your drug use. This can be especially bad if you have natural malocclusion (your teeth don't touch together correctly). Do you grind your teeth at night? Bruxism (grinding/clenching) is a significant predisposing factor to TMD. The sounds you hear/feel in the TMJ are called crepitus and can be the beginnings of joint damage. Many people can have sounds associated with their TMJ and have no negative symptoms whatsoever. The symptoms you describe coincide greatly with TMD. See a dentist who specializes in TMD and then get a second opinion from another. Much of this can be alleviated with a proper night guard and occlusal (tooth contact) adjustment. If you cannot handle a traditional night gaurd, ask your dentist about an NTI appliance, it may actually be quite indicated for your situation.

If your symptoms are not regular and they are only following your MDMA use, I wouldn't be as concerned with the condition of your TMJ. It would sound more like an acute problem stemming from hours of bruxism. Have you tried using magnesium citrate or chelated magnesium during your roll? This helps reduce jaw tension.

Contact your states dental association. Ask them to give you information on a TMD specialist in your area. That would be a great place to start.
