i honestly don't know what the symbols mean though. like there's different times on the clock face.

I figured it out...the clocks correspond to the number of hours/guesses

so if the clock reads 12, it's 12 guesses
1PM is 13:00 hours or 13 guesses

so the clocks are only ever 11:00, 12:00, or 13:00 because you only get 13 guesses. For some reason there's not a blue tile for 11,12, and 13.
