Anyone live or used to live on campus/dorms???

If drinking and drug use isnt something your into then why are you worried?

If your seriously determined then it's not hard to stay on the straight and narrow. I'm not much of a drinker and Im around ppl drinking all the time.

Plus college is filled with tons of stuff to do that doesn't envolve getting fucked up, it just so happens that's what a lot of people choose to do

The dorms at my school are fun places to visit for parties and stuff, but i wouldn't want to live there. Its basically full of kids fresh out of high school getting their first taste of freedom. So every night is a party, and the weekends are just insane.

Dorms suck, but it is important to be social, make tons of contacts, and get along with everyone. I guarantee there will be at least a few rich bastards there and they are great to cozy up to since at some point they will probably ask you if you want to go check out their summer house, fly you there in a private jet, and take you out on their (daddy's) yacht.

That's really superficial of you, lad.

Since you're 21 you should make friends with kids who you connect with. Make bank selling alcohol to frosh. That is all. lol

I lived in the dorms my freshman year of college and loved it for the social aspect. My roommate was cool, she was a partier who liked to have fun but took school seriously too. We shared a bathroom with the room next to us, so there were 4 to a bathroom. I ended up becoming really good friends with the 2 girls in the room next to mine. I knew no one when I first came to college because I was an out of state student, and living in the dorms helped me meet a lot of people. Other guys and girls from the surrounding dorms would hang out outside and I met a bunch of people that way too.
It wasn't required; in fact you had to apply early to get a spot in the dorms or else they would fill up and you would have to live off campus. Almost no one lived on campus past their freshman year.
The dorms themselves were small and not spectacular, but the social aspect was the best part. Its the best way to make new friends and meet people as a freshman.

Based on some photos of the roommate I was assigned freshman year I concluded he was a complete straight edge (and vice versa). Move in day:

him: So...do you smoke?
me: uh....occasionally.
him: Well, if you ever want to smoke a j or something lemme know.
me: *pulls out ounce*

Freshman year I was part of a residential academic "talent advancement" program which meant everyone on my floor were honors biochem or bio students. My roommate and I immediately met 4 other kids on our floor who shared our...common interests. Pretty much spent the entire year getting high, skipping class, watching Planet Earth. Good times.

It was kind of funny though because most of the other people on the floor were the sheltered serious type. They became afraid of us cause we did drugs. :(

I lived on campus there for a while, wasn't to bad there at the start. got into a relationship like the first week i was there, and we broke up. and i got bad into drugs and drinking. she became more important then school, and finally shit just collapsed..

hey man just have casual sex. dont get into relationships THAT fast, ya feel me?..
