Anyone know why overgrow is down? [UPDATE: OG servers have been turned off]

Most went to ICmag... I just get frustrated every time I check out another cannabis cultivation site...none of them live up to OG. No offense BM, but this sites cannabis section is seriously lacking. I've replaced all of my OG time with BL time now. It works out better since I never got to talk about other drugs... but I miss OG and all of it's wonderful info. Thanks again for the Strain Guide and GrowFAQ links.
 
here's a little tip for those looking for overgrow info still in google's cache.

Just put site:overgrow.com in front of your search query and you'll be able to search only overgrow. example: http://www.google.com/search?&q=site:overgrow.com+curing

it's a good thing the server didn't end up getting configured to redirect to some announcement page.. otherwise all of the cached info would have been lost! apparently it's a blocked site on the internet archive. methinks someone ought to mine google's chace before it too disappears 8o

^ Damn I just tried looking up a few of my posts and it pulled them up as search results, then when I clicked on them they took me nowhere. I'm never gonna see my photos of past harvests ever again. :(

I don't think this was ever intended to be a hardcore cannabis cultivation forum, so much as a forum to discussion of all aspects of the drug.. particularly its use.

I don't trust ICMag!!

Something about that website gives me the creeps. The mods there all feel very fake, the whole entire community there seems very much like the kind of people you meet at after-hours bottle clubs, where everyone is fake and coked up.

It's bizarre, and I don't like it. I miss Overgrow. I never thought I'd say this, but Emery's website is now the best cannabis-growing community online. Something about ICMag is fishy, and I just saw that they are offline, resetting banned people's accounts, all in the name of better security or some shit. They said they would be back online by today at 3pm GMT, but now they say they are going to be down until the 10th.

That's fine, until OG opens back up, or someone creates a new community with some depth. I hate to talk shit about places, people, or things I don't personally know, but ICMag REAAAALLLLY gives me the heebie jeebies. Something feels very conspiratorial about it...
 
I'm going to merge this in with the OG thread, next time post this in your journal or something.

The ICmag you knew is no more. POM, or Plural of Mongoose has taken over the site and is busy fucking around with the settings or something. Might be for the better if you didn't like it before.

I don't think I like POM either. I really wish we had a cannabis growing forum here at BL. But that wouldnt work either because there dont seem to be enough growers here.
 
WTF? what happened to IC? i saw a closure and wondered if it has to be related to a second string of closures, and seizures? what do you guys think? if its fishy i wont go back when it comes bak up...8(
 
I don't know what to think, but I've been following everything since OG first went down. And something definitely isn't kosher. I don't think I trust this Plural of Mongoose character one bit.
 
Nah, too little people posting grow logs or grow questions. Would be cool though.

considering the original message stated that Pluralofmongoose would be in charge, i'm suprised to see Gypsy's name there. are you in contact with any of these people, Blowmonkey?
 
Thankfully, no. I don't know what the hell is going on, but apparently oldpink has come back from the dead to say that everything is fine and he'll be in charge of ICmag in a short while again, then there is POM who states the opposite, threathening to sue them because he now owns the place etc, etc..

Your best bet is just quickly getting the fuck out of there when it opens by deleting your account. Don't trust or support either side, they don't deserve it.
 
blowmonkey, where do i go? can you recomend another site that is similar, i just need somewhere to read, preferably something safe.
 
I was hoping that OG would resurface, with all its posts retrieved from backups, and hosted in a country that is untouchable. I can't believe this hasn't happened.
