Anyone know why overgrow is down? [UPDATE: OG servers have been turned off]

EJ, if you do a well enough google search, some of the pages have been cached. click the small <cached> link next to the URL on the search results and you'll get the text from the page. i think this only works for some of the strain guide though
 
'twasnt Richard Calrisian. the whole site is backed up. it's just a matter of if/when/how the admin can access the servers.

New Information regarding Police Seizures of Overgrow.com

Cannabis Culture has developed a timeline of events we believe accurately account for the disappearance of overgrow.com, cannabisworld.com, Heaven's Stairway Seeds (hempqc.com), and eurohemp.

On Monday evening, Richard Calrisian, the owner of the four websites, resident of Montreal, was contacted by his web service providers in Vancouver where his servers were situated that there may be a problem regarding a police investigation. RC told his provider to shut down the websites immediately. Within hours the police, its unknown what kind of police, apparently entered the server site with a warrant and apprehended the hardware that housed the four web sites.

In the early morning of Tuesday, police in Montreal moved in and arrested RC, his wife, and family members and an unknown number of employees.

It is alleged that RC, a pseudonym, is being held at Riviere-des-Prairie (RDP) jail in Montreal, while his wife in is Tanguay jail, across the river from RDP. CC Magazine called the prison and found no one there under the name Richard Calrisian. Their bail hearing should be on Monday, but it is unusual that a bail hearing has not yet been held. Typically they are held within 24 hours of arrest, unless an investigation is ongoing and the accused are being held temporarily without bail because of the risk of the arrest news informing persons also under investigation.

Reports of a drug bust in Hearst, Ontario are not related the seizure of overgrow.com websites.

If you're saying that a similar situation could arise in Holland, where the BL servers will be seized, no, not really.

thank you VERY much for clearing that up. Sounds like RC did what he could to take it down before the feds got to it. Karma to him for trying, and prayers to his safety

This entire War on Drugs is a waste of time & $$$. It IS sickening that we're still dealing with such archaic & barbaric laws. I just hope I live to see the day that all this shit ends.8( :p
 
Damn you can't even find overgrow on archive.org, and cannabisworld doesn't seem to work on archive either, guess all that information is lost now.
 
wow thats really sad i dont know the guys financial situation but maybe someone shouls set up a legal defense fund or something. I think we all owe him that much. I know i would donate.

It's not lost. The servers have just been shut down.
 
I am hopeful that the info and what-have-you will be back within the year. I doubt the servers have been surrendered for good.. :(
 
Who knows how big this case(s) will get, anybody recall green merchant?
Those people who were around back then never could have imagined just how big the dragnet got- coast 2 coast and had ripples for yrs.

A clean re-install of windows will get rid of every thing.

depending on how you do it, that won't destroy all information on your harddrive.. a determined investigator could still retrieve info unless you totally wiped your harddrive
 
If your IP is dynamic then you are 1 step in the right direction
 
I personally never understood the concept of showing off your illegal drug garden in the first place - seems to me the best growers never even went on that site
