Anyone know what opiates are OTC in France?

You can buy 2 or 3 boxes from a same pharmacy, and of course go to another and so on. No law against it. Tussipax is the cheapest opiate OTC, there are other brands but Tussipax is the best and cheapest.

I just moved to paris france from california. It is great that you can get otc codine here but it does not get me high anymore. How hard is it to get stronger opiates here? Do you have to go see a Dr to get a script or is there a black market here like in the states?

^ Yes there is a black market for morphine, mainly (and subs and benzos). It's very hard to find other opiates (oxy) without some strong connections, though.

to all who live in Paris

I'm very interested in these and more info but cannot PM to talk. is it possible that you all can PM me? those who care to, that is. thanks!

Heading to Tignes tomorrow, just wondering if everything that was said above about Tussipax, Paderyl, Codoliprane, Peter's sirop etc. is still correct? None of them have since been made prescription only or become hard to find? The posts were from 2007 so thought I'd better check.

I hope there's enough Pharmacies to get a few packs, being in a ski resort up a mountain and all.

I know that I am not exactly contributing to this thread much, but I wanted to say how jealous I am that you are going to Paris! Paris is an unbelievable, extraordinary city. I would give nearly anything to move there, I really would.

Oh, and hydro, great avatar! Is it Anna Karina from the scene in Vivre sa vie when she watches the movie in the movie theater and begins to cry?

Does anyon know if kaolin and morphine mixture is available OTC in France? Or something similar? Also are the tussipax any good? Like can you just neck a load as of they're codeine?

Sorrpy for any spelling mistakes, posting from my phone in a coach, a little out of it.

The opiate only medicines are VERY hard to find in ski resorts, it would seem. As each town only has one (maybe two if you're lucky) pharmacies, it's hit and mostly miss that they'll have anything hard to come by and ordering it in is unlikely up a mountain. The best I managed to get was 'CodéDrill' and 'Néo-codion', both codeine only cough syrups, the former is optimistically described as cherry flavoured, but tastes more like uncooked pastry and flour; the latter just tastes like absolute shit - both hard to choke down. Codoliprane is very common as was mentioned and you get no funny looks asking for it. However, buying another bottle of codedrill 2 days after the last from the same woman was a dodgy; I hoped she might not recognise me with my gear on but she quizzed me about it and then gave it me anyway. If only it was that easy in England!

I thought an update in this thread would be interesting:

Tussipax still available OTC in France, personally I buy about a box every other week. It's enough to get me high a day or two every now and then without giving me either addiction or too much tolerance.

WARNING: for those who have never taken Tussipax tablets, and who are not used to taking opiates (ie. have no tolerance at all to opiates), do not take more than three tablets (there will be thirty in your box you buy from the pharmacy). Three is plenty enough to get high with 0 tolerance!! If you take more you will sufer stomach cramps, diziness, disorientation, sleepiness... It will be too much. Trust me!
